| summary: "Do you even like me, Kao?" Pete asked, hurt and anger boiling him from his gut or maybe it was the alcohol he had been drinking for the past hour, "you don't trust me - you don't believe me when I say I like you!"

"Because I just don't understand why - "

"Does there have to be a reason?" Pete interrupted, matching Kao's hurt look, "Do we need a reason to like each other?" |

Pete glared at the people surrounding him, taking a harsh bite from his stick of meat as he wondered why the hell he had decided to come to some stupid house party, but remembered the free alcohol. It's all his boyfriend's fault, he cursed taking a big gulp from the cup of alcohol in his other hand. If he hadn't started another argument, Pete wouldn't be mad nor would he be at the damn party, instead cuddled up in Kao's arms or even down his dick.

But here he was, watching others grind up against each other like it was some club as they danced to the blaring music from the speakers which made Pete's ears ring. Pete scrunched his nose when he sniffed a whiff of cigarette smoke, most likely from the couple of boys standing away from the couch he was sat on and instead tried to concentrate on the scent of mixed alcohol and sweat.

Finishing his jerky and taking another drink of his cup, Pete frowns when he realizes that it was empty. "Great," he muttered in annoyance as he jumped to his feet. He hadn't even realized he had drank that much, still feeling sober with a hint of anger. He was still mad about Kao and his continued accusations of Pete being a player, a fuck boy who went around and slept with other girls. Pete didn't understand why Kao was so worried about the situation when he had explained that it was all in the past, that he was head over heels for Kao and he would do anything for the male. Of course, his supposed boyfriend didn't believe him and that caused Pete to be angry. He just didn't understand why Kao would continue to believe that when all he did was love and chase him ever since the Mint situation.

Pete walked into the kitchen, spotting the refrigerator right away and quickly making his way over. He pulled the door open and grabbed the first alcohol bottle he saw, twisting the cap open and taking a huge gulp.

"Woah, Pete! You're drinking already!"

Pete looked over and noticed his friends, giving them a small smile in greeting. "June, Thada, I didn't know you guys would be here."

"Of course!" June exclaimed, the usual excited grin on his face as he placed his hands on his hips, "I wouldn't miss any party around the area."

"We also invited Kao and San," Thada spoke beside him, "they should be here soon."

"Kao?" Pete repeated. "He's coming?" Kao wasn't much of a party person, instead preferring to stay at home and study. Pete had noticed this since the first time they really hung out and ever since, he's always teased his boyfriend of being a party-pooper who never wanted to have any fun. But why the hell was Kao coming to a party now of all times.

Pete must've looked confused because June spoke, "I know right! I'm surprised too. Something must've happened to him to make him want to come."

Pete gave an awkward smile and nod at June, glancing at Thada who was weirdly staring at him. "What?"

"Did something happen between you two?" Thada asked, concern laced in his tone.

Pete shook his head immediately. "Nothing happened! I'm just surprised he agreed to come..." Pete frowned when Thada kept giving in the look, so he quickly drank out of his bottle of alcohol to avoid his friend's stare, letting the liquid burn his throat.
