hello! thank you for reading this far,, it's really appreciated!

i really wanted to try the short poetic kind of writing. after for her, i really wanted to make another sad short story but i didn't know what to write. i ended up writing this based on my real life (kinda lol)

i had moved in with my grandma a few months ago and i'd always get home really late after work. there was never parking around where i lived so by that hour so i usually would have to park a block or two away from my house. as i was walking home, i noticed a boy walking in the opposite direction. he'd pass me and continue. he always had his hood up, a backpack on and his skateboard under his arm. some nights he had his skateboard and other nights he didn't. he'd usually look up at the sky and then back down, admiring the stars for a few moments. even though i didn't know him, i looked forward to seeing him pass by. i didn't have to see what he looked like, but his presence alone was intriguing. i'd always question why he was coming home late and where he could've been. i haven't seen him around lately. the last time i saw him was weeks ago, but i never got to talk to him which i regret.

in this story, i filled in all the missing information i never found out. this story is told from donghyuck's perspective and mark is the boy he always sees walking home at midnight. donghyuck finds out he's a boy he goes to school with who happens to be part of gang.

mark always gets home late because he's typically off causing trouble with his gang members. after some time, donghyuck decides to approach him because he doesn't see mark as a gang member, or a trouble maker. he just sees him as 'midnight boy', the boy that likes gazing at the stars.

after some time, the two spend their nights together just talking and star gazing, until one night when one of mark's gang members gets shot. things within his gang start to fall apart and mark decides he has to move.

overall its just a short love story about the way one makes you feel rather than the person as an individual.

thank you guys for reading ! it means a lot.
