"Sir... sir please wake up. It's time for your daily physical."

Opening my eyes to the depressing white ceiling of Olivia General hospital. The nurse left to prepare the equipment she would use to see if I'm ready to be discharged. Looking to my left I could the birds chirping in the morning sun, but I couldn't hear them. The smell of the spring breeze blowing in from faraway places, but I couldn't smell it.

The sounds and smells of the outside alluded me. The smells of sterile hospital equipment. The sounds of patients moaning in pain, the rhythmic beeping of my heart monitoring and the occasional code blue.

The nurse reentered the room rolling a cart and begun to check my condition using the equipment in the cart.

"Well Cole your vitals look fine, but we still concerned for your low white blood cell count, so we will continue to monitor you for the next couple of days."

I only looked at the nurse with my dead brown eyes and nodding slowly before turning on my side to ignore. Hearing her huff as she left the depressing room. Can't these people take a hint and leave me alone I continued to watch the outside before drifting off to sleep.

Closing my eyes and what only felt like minutes later I could feel a pressure on my chest. I have been feeling that same pressure on my chest for the past four nights.

And tonight's the night I'm going to catch my paralysis demon. Moving my arms I reached up and held onto the demon sitting on my chest and hearing an audible squeak.

Opening my eyes I saw a small child with short, brown hair sitting on top me. Pushing her foot against my face and pulling on my short black hair trying to escape my grasp.

"Were you watching me in my sleep?" She paused and furiously shook her head.

"Really than what were you doing?"

"Nothing," she said almost emotionless. I'm twenty-six I don't need this type of torture.

"Elizabeth... Elizabeth, where are you?" A nurse called out passing by my room. She looked inside to see the fiasco taking place. "Elizabeth, what are you doing? You know not to bother the other patients and plus we need to check the condition of your heart."

The young girl pouted as the nurse lead her away not before she peeked into my room before sprinting down the hallway.

"Elizabeth, no running," as the screaming nurse ran after her.

That is why I hate children they're always so noisy and act out. Later on the doctor came in gave me my daily dose of medicine and then I went to sleep for the night.

I spelt peaceful during the night expect that I was woken up halfway through the night to a loud bang. Not moving an inch I thought it might be one of the nurses coming to check on me, but I felt a familiar pressure.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Opening my eyes she jolted in surprise.

"No," I lifted my eyebrows awaiting an explanation. "Because it's the only time when the nurses don't bother as much. Hey, why are you here?"

"Get out," was all I said as I placed her on the cold floor.

"But-"

"I said leave," I interrupted. "I don't want to talk about it."

She stomped her foot and demanded I tell her. I kept telling her to leave, but the brat wouldn't listen.

"Your so stubborn just tell me." She wined.

"Talk about the pot calling the kettle black." She looked at me puzzled. I huffed "fine I'll tell you." She then started to jump around like rabbit.
