"No..." I mutter as I clench my fist holding the Math Test, of which had a D- written in red pen with a circle around it, along with the words "See me after class" written. My jaw tightened as my breathing increased heavily. My long, brown hair fell over my face. Over my green eyes and faded tan skin. My eyebrows furrowed as my teeth bared. I suddenly stood, yelling a loud, broken scream. The test paper was on the ground, having fallen out of my hands.
I leaped out of my chair and onto my desk. I screamed at my Math teacher who had turned from his desk to me. His eyes wide, the maybe 30 year old man stumbling backwards. My classmates were staring at me like I was a monster. They were all out of their seats and against the wall, trembling with wide, teary eyes. They were staring in fear. I didn't pay any mind to them as I leaped out at out teacher, screaming at him for my grade, shaking his shoulders.
The bell interrupted my sudden memory. I sat up quickly as I glanced around at the other students who were getting up to leave. I had been having that of a flashback to when I was in 6th grade and I lashed out on my teacher for my grade. It was the day I found out I could shift into a monster like form, like a shadow version of myself.
In that form, I was stretched out, tall, almost 9 feet tall. My skin was tightened around my bones and it was like I had no muscle. My joints were all ball and sockets. My horrific grin would be the only thing visible, as the rest of my body appeared as a silhouette. It was almost as if my mouth glowed.
In said form, I had increased speed, stamina and agility. I could climb on the walls and ceiling, and blend in with the shadows quit literally as long as I shut my mouth.
That day I had received a D- on my test and I had horrified my teacher and classmates. My teacher ended up quitting and most of the people in that class moved away, due to fearing for their lives. Except a few people. One of which was my best friend Ace.
Ace had been my friend since 2nd grade. He was a fellow Monster, and he had found out about a week after I found out I was such a being. Ace was a tanned boy with dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and usually wore a dark colored T-Shirt, jeans and converse. He also had dimples. His Monster form was basically that of a werewolf.
As I was now walking down the hall, I bumped into him. "Jade!" The taller male exclaimed as he basically picked me up and spun around, holding me tight.
"Ace-!" I exclaimed as he squished me. "Too tight!" I gasped as he set me down.
"You ready for M Camp!?" He asked me excitedly.
I took a moment to catch my breath. It was the last day of school before winter break. During that break, a group of Monsters got to go to a camp specifically designed for us to have a safe place if parents would be out of town. This year, my mom was the chaperone. "Of course I am," I said finally.
Ace giggled excitedly, "C'mon! We've gotta go wait for the camp bus!!!" The loud boy exclaimed. I sighed as he began to pull me to my locker to get my belongings.
"C'moooon hurrryyyyy!" The boy exclaimed, stretching out his words. I got my belongings and shoved them into my backpack. I also put my coat on, and I barely got to shut my locker before I was picked up by Ace.
"You're so slow," He said with fake annoyance in his voice. I sighed as i was slung over his shoulder.
The taller boy carried me to the front of our school. He finally set me down. I glanced around to see a few others who were presumably Monsters, like Ace and I.
I looked up at Ace, "How long do we have to wait again?"
The boy shrugged before pushing his hair out of the way his face. "It shouldn't take too long," he said with a grin.
