Amber p.o.v

As soon as I finished with my classes I raced home to scout out my new neighbor. Someone moved in while I was away, and it made me mad. However, I knew it was a male who moved in. While I was on break I dragged out my old galaxy and called the recent owner, she said she couldn't give me any details, but the gender of the resident. Which indeed was male.

Once I was home I ran straight inside to get changed into something more presentable and fixed my rat's nest of hair so it cascaded down my back. After my beauty session, I marched to the door and swung it open, confidence riding on my shoulders. It disappeared once my vision caught sight of a male figure, who had dirty blonde hair right past his shoulders and muscles that bulged out from his shirt. My eyes trailed over the art till they rested on his tanned face. A nicely shaped bearded hung from his chin where a white smile sat.

The man was walking to and fro moving boxes from the truck into the house he was now occupying. Some of the movers were helping him while following any order he gave to them about where his belongings should go. I closed the door and moved to sit on the egg chair I had set in the corner of my porch, giving me the perfect view of the neighbor and all his actions. To not seem like a total creep I pulled my phone out from my waistband and acted like I was mindlessly scrolling through.

Apparently, my face was not too convincing because the piece of art I had been admiring for about 30 minutes now was strutting over to me. With a rapid pace, I quickly ducked my head down so he couldn't see the blush that was creeping up on my cheeks.

"Uh hi I saw you sitting out here and I thought I would introduce myself since I am new to the neighborhood. My name is Zack".

A smooth accentless voice bombarded my ears and filled my heart with nerves. Slowly I looked up and glanced at the man who stood in front of the porch railing with his hands in his pockets and a nervous smile on his face. After looking at apparently Zack for what feels like the rest of my miserable life we take a hand out of his pocket and nervously give a little wave and pursing his lips.

"Hi", he repeats," I'm your new neighbor, Zack".

When my brain finally wires itself back together I quickly posed myself and rose to my feet and leaned over the railing a smidge and reached my hand out in a friendly handshake.

"Hi, sorry nice to meet you, Zack, my name is Amber. Glad to see someone is taking a liking to our quiet neighborhood. Where are you from Zack"?

With enthusiasm washing over his face, he took my hand and gave a gentle squeeze without a second thought. When he released my hand it instantly flew up to his blonde locks and smiled even bigger while nervously looking at the ground.

"It's nice to meet you too Amber, hopefully, I won't cause you too much trouble while being your neighbor. But let me get back to helping the movers with everything, let's chat some time maybe you can let me in on what's fun to do around here",

As quickly as he had arrived he was turning around and walking back to his home hands back in his pockets the wind moving through his hair like he was in some kind of romance movie. I might have starred him down as he walked across the conjoined lawns and back into his house, but he didn't need to know that.
