Hello Everyone, Jackie here!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for reading! First things first before you read my first short story, there is some background information you may want to know. This short story is loosely based off the British literature master piece, the epic Beowulf. For those you who may not know , Beowulf is one of the oldest recorded epics to date and is still very much enjoyed today. If you have not had the chance to read it, I personally believe you are missing out on something rather extraordinary and should give it a chance.
Secondly, the following short story is written in the same setting and uses some of the same characters as Beowulf, just written in a different point of view. This short story was actually a creative writing assignment I completed for extra credit at my university. Most importantly, I own this story, this essay as I spent weeks writing it. However, I do NOT own Beowulf and the credit for any direct quotes goes to its respectful owners and original authors. The asterisk symbols next to a phrase is a direct quote take from Beowulf and at the bottom each page that this occurs, will be the line number from the epic.
Lastly, this project was just for fun and to expand my horizons as to see what I can do. However, I should warn you, dear reader, that it is a very dark piece and is intended for mature audiences. There is blood and violence as well as other subtle mature themes. Please feel free to let me know what you think of my fun little project in the comments, I'd love to hear your feedback! Until next time!
