The wallet laying there on the floor before I picked it up was now in my hands. I didn't know what to do so I stared down at it for a second only focussing on the black leather wallet that was a little bigger than my hand but would fit perfectly into a pocket. After staring at it I decided to see what was inside. the first thing I notest were the many zero's on the bills inside the wallet poking out a little of there designated pocket. There were three cards in the wallet. I could only see the top of them so I took one out. It had a photo of a handsome young man on it with pale skin and black hair with familiar eyes. I was happy to be able to read the hangul on the card that read 'Min Yoongi'. My eyes were caught again by the little picture on the ID card. I put it back and looked if there was a phone number in one of the wallet pockets. To my surprise, there actually was one.
'Hello?' said a deep voice on the other side of the phone.
'Yes, hello. I found your wallet...'
It took a couple of seconds before I got a reply.
'I'll come over at your place to pick it up tomorrow if that's fine with you...'
Then it hit me... I'm homeless now. Not like I didn't already feel homeless sometimes when my mom would kick me out of the house again and forced me to live on the streets alone.
'Hello?' repeated the voice on the phone.
'Ah yes sorry... I could bring it over right now if you want... '
'Sure I don't mind if it's not too much trouble'
'No No, it's fine, really, just send me the address.'
And so he did and he hung up and I looked up where he lived and it was only a fifteen-minute walk so that was very doable. Not like I had anywhere to go...
The snow was still toggling down on me and on everything the snow could reach. It was a wonderful sight to see. Everything was covered in a white layer of fluffy cold snow. Every step I took left a footprint behind that would quickly be covered by the new snow falling down over it. The snow made a crackling sound under my feet which made me forget it was so cold and I had so many things to worry about now. At least I could take my mind off of my mother and my dead best friend etc. I stopped for a second to take in a deep breath of fresh winter night air. I breathed it in while closing my eyes for a second or two. When breathing out I slowly opened my eyes again and made a step forward to my first destination in my new life.
I rang the doorbell after a 15-minute walk through the snow. The door opened and I saw a guy I didn't expect to see. It really didn't look like the Min Yoongi from the ID card. The guy stared at me with his brown eyes and I stared back before breaking the ice. 'Hello. I'm here to bring the wallet...' The guy's posture dropped with a smile on his face and called out the name of the guy that I was expecting. 'Yoongi the girl is here for your wallet!'
The guy who opened the door with the brown hair and the oh so slightly puffy cheeks stepped back and a guy with white hair with the bangs falling on his face above his brown eyes with pale skin came into the light of the door light above the house number on the right of the black door. He looked me right in my eyes and for a second I felt warmth. A kind that isn't commonly felt, especially when it's snowing outside. 'Thanks' he said when I handed him the black leather wallet that I didn't let go of until right at this moment.
'It's okay I didn't really have somewhere to go anyway' I smiled oh so gently.
The Yoongi guy wanted to say goodbye and was about to shut the door when the other guy said this; 'Come inside you look cold! I'll make you some tea.'
I was about to decline but since I was cold and was going to spend the night on the streets it wouldn't hurt to warm up a little first, so I accepted his offer and stepped inside.
