Second Chance

             "Joseph you are going to be late to school

             "Going"

Sprinting down the stairs struggling to put on his jacket Joseph couldn't stop thinking about Caroline. He was catching feelings for her but he didn't know what to do.

He finally arrived at school after a 5 min drive that felt like a 30 min drive.

            "Hey," said Caroline

            "Oh hey"

We talked and talked soon Josh joined us, for a good moment it felt like the good old middle school days, but something interrupted it. Once again Naldo and his pathetic friends were pushing Peru into the lockers, which happens every day before the first period.

Peru was always bullied since the beginning of high school, up to now he is known as the clown of OceanWest High School. Sometimes I feel like he is going to do something that he will regret, but he has yet to do it.

Caroline and Josh wanted to go do something after school but I said I couldn't, but in reality, I was just too nervous to be around Caroline. Which is pretty dumb if you ask me but I didn't know what I was doing. Me saying no to Caroline, and Josh caused me to be bored all day at home.

I woke up earlier than usual this morning but it didn't matter, I still went to school early. There was something weird going on when I got their behind the school there was somebody and blood on the floor. The person turned around and I saw who it was Peru, but there was something weird going on with him, his eyes were glowing red. I got scared and ran off back home.

I quickly jumped into my bed and called Caroline and Josh and told them what had happened, but what I got in return from them was "what, you are crazy" and they hung up on me. I tried calling them but they weren't answering me, they kept on hanging up. I decide to stay home and not risk my life. After school they all rushed to my house and started knocking on the door furiously, as I opened the door they yelled out "you were right he has some sort of powers."

They were terrified, you can see it in their faces, they explained to me that he got to school with the leader of the gang MS-13. He was being controlled by someone or something and we had yet to find out what it is. Peru's face didn't look the same, it was orange it looked like something was taking over him slowly.

School ended up calling home saying that we are not allowed to attend school because the gang MS-13 and Peru have taken over it. El Salvador has always been a dangerous place but with this happening, it is the most dangerous country in the world. Caroline and Josh decided to stay with me at home overnight and try to find out what is causing this to happen to Peru. We did research and research about it, and we learned that back then a long time ago something similar happened but to defeat it half of the universe had to die.

We came up with the most genius idea ever, we can defeat them by creating some sort of machine to suck them out of what they are experiencing. But to do that we need rocket fuel. Which there is only one way to get, we planned a whole spy mission to sneak into a rocket and drain its fuel. After we successfully got that we drove home faster than ever.

After working on this project that might save everyone, for 2 days. We finally got it done. Now, all we had to do is sneak into the school which is the MS-13, and Peru's shelter, and let the machine talk for itself.

It was early in the morning we all rushed to the school and met up. We planned everything, and it was finally time for the action. We got past the guards in the front door, we thought we were doing so good and got ourselves caught. Everyone with the glowing eyes came into the room and it was finally our chance to defeat it. I activated the machine and nothing happened we got tied up. As soon as they finished tying us they all fainted. It took them about an hour for them to wake up, but when they woke up the gang MS-13 all ran away except Peru, he helped us out.

After the actions of Peru helping us we decided to give him a second chance to be our friend, we hung out almost every day to give him comfort and make him trust us.

Finally, after a long time, I had the chance to explain my feelings to Caroline in response she said:" I have feelings for you too Joseph."
