The thing I like about Miraculous Ladybug is that Marinette is the main character. In most anime and Tv shows, Adrien would most likely be the main protagonist, considering his family and their connection to the miraculous (albeit for alternative reasons)
Marinette starts out with Zero relevance to the magical jewels and was just Chosen by Fu because he saw potential. Then She becomes so integral to the story because she becomes the guardian. The Tales of the Miraculous were originally a force that wrapped her into the story by luck, and she was the one impacted by the miraculous, now she is the one that has control and is the one writing the story, and that's pretty damn cool.
