"Her smile put the sunflower to shame."

"Sunflowers are my favorite flower."

I look down at the short girl in confusion. "Wait what?" I murmur confused. She laughs. "I meant, take me on a date. Just know, my favorite flowers are sunflowers." She repeats. I look down, baffled. I like this in a woman. Bravery, the courage to do something others wouldn't. That would include asking me out so directly without beating around the bush. Evolette gives me a small smile. I notice her slightly pink cheeks and chuckle. "You're adorable, dimples." I say without thinking. Her eyes widen and she turns away from me. "Don't say things like that, idiot!" She replies. I laugh and turn her around. her face is beet red. I place my hand on her head and pet her head gently, her soft hair sliding between my fingers. I smile and lean down to her height. "But it's true. You're adorable." I say softly. Evolette doesn't look in my eyes. "Look at me." I whisper. She hesitantly looks at me. I can see the slight shock in her eyes because I'm so close to her.

No words. The sky begins to darken. Her eyes looking in mine. So soft. I realize my hand is still on her head. I lean in to her face and close the distance. I move my hand to her cheek and softly stroke it with my thumb. I pull away and look at her. The softest look is in her eyes. Softer than any I've ever seen. Her cheeks are flushed. Both from the cold and from the kiss.
