You’re prepared, all clean, and lie on the bed. The effort of acting like a happy bride earlier left you drained, as if all the energy you had for the day had been washed away. Tonight will be the first time you’ll sleep beside your husband, If you were truly in love, perhaps you would feel an excitement at the thought of cuddling through the night, but your situation is different—this marriage is just for your convenience.

You hear footsteps approaching, each heavy thud echoing in the quiet night. You know it’s him, since he is the only person in his household that has those footsteps. His father, who has the same build as him, lives in another home because of course, he's already married, he needs privacy to the family he's about to build (?).

When he enters, you give him a side glance. He’s already dressed in his sleepwear, the fabric soft against his skin and his chest slightly exposed, giving you a peek of his physique that would definitely make every woman drool.

His hint of nervousness in his posture is visible, a tension that makes him uncomfortable sleeping beside you. He knows nothing will happen tonight, but the weight of the moment hangs heavily on him.

The bed creaks as he settles on the other side, making a conscious effort to avoid touching you. But with his broad frame, it’s nearly impossible. You feel the warmth of his skin brush against yours which made him more uncomfortable.

Being married carries certain expectations—intimacy, connection, a shared life. Kyojuro tries to dismiss those thoughts, his mind wrestling with the reality that you’re in love with someone else. He can’t ignore the fact that married couples would do what a couple should do because after all, he thinks that it is also certain. But still, he's not the type of man to take advantage of a woman. Of course, if that happens, he will ask for your consent and respect your decisions wholeheartedly.

“Goodnight,” he says softly, turning his back to you after brushing off that thought out in his mind. He did not wait for a response, or perhaps he thought that  you’ve already fallen asleep. In truth, you’re wide awake, you simply don’t want to talk. All you want for is the quiet of the night, hoping he sleep soon.

After what feels like an eternity, he begins to snore, a deep, rhythmic sound that fills the room. You’ve always hated the sound of snoring—it feels intrusive, as if it disrupts the very essence of the night. Gritting your teeth, you slowly sit up, carefully shifting to avoid waking him. The moonlight filters through the window, casting a soft glow across the room, and you pick up your haori, the fabric cool against your skin.

You slip out of bed and tiptoe towards the door. The estate is silent, everyone else is already asleep due to exhaustion from the day’s occasion. You know the guards will be alert, so, make your way to a nearby tree, its branches swaying gently in the night breeze, and climb up because it is near the walls that protects the estate.

You jump down from the tree, landing softly on the other side of the wall.Feeling relieved that none of the guards noticed you. You take a moment to catch your breath before you begin to walk.

As you walk, your mind races with thoughts of Daichi. It doesn’t take long before you spot him, his familiar silhouette under the moonlight. Your heart leaps at the sight. Though his expression holds a hint of sadness, knowing you’re now wed to another, his eyes light up when they meet yours.
