lucas wiped the cream on the corner of his daughter's lips using the table napkin available but was focused on his son who sat there with his cup of ice cream down on the table, left untouched.

❝is there anything bothering you jeffrey?❞ lucas smiled at his daughter before picking up the untouched ice cream cup and passed it to his son who stopped dozing off and accepted the cup.

but not eating the ice cream.

❝hey, bud?❞

the boy looked up and saw the worried look of his father. he didn't even try to hide the sadness he is feeling but nonetheless, at least he finally started digging his ice cream.

not knowing what to do and how to decipher what ever problem his son is facing, he turned to his daughter and gave her a questioning look. ❝what happened to your brother?❞

the little girl stopped eating her ice cream for a split second before shrugging and eating back once more. ❝do you not like the ice cream?❞ her voice made jeffrey look at her and was somehow guilty for shouting at her a while ago.

❝it's fine.❞ jeffrey simply answered.

lucas frowned. ❝of course the ice cream is fine, it's you who is not.❞

that made jeffrey stop eating and placed the cup back down on the table. the action made lucas and his sister put all their attention on him. jeffrey sulked on his seat as he crossed his arms on his chest, looked neither at the two but down on the ground.

❝dad?❞ jeffrey called out, making lucas hum and finished his cup of ice cream first before entertaining his little boy. ❝can we not go back there?❞

that made lucas tilt his head to the side, not quite understanding what his son meant. ❝where?❞

❝to uncle suh.❞

lucas furrowed his brows. ❝don't you want to visit uncle suh?❞

❝it's not that.❞ jeffrey turned to his side and saw his sister looking sad upon hearing what he just said. she might have misunderstood about him not liking johnny.

❝then what is it?❞

in fact, it's because of another reason.

❝i suddenly don't like vampires, dad.❞
