I hear the sounds of waves crashing against each other, it's calming. Almost breath taking. A storm is coming, I could feel it. I don't care, I love the water hitting my head. I don't know why, but the sound of waves and water reminds me of the good old times.
Back when things were much simpler. Back before I lost my parents. Back when I would wake up to a mom in the kitchen making pancakes and my dad reading a newspaper, and a family dog. I miss those days. I looked down below the bridge, taking a deep breath.
Everything that happened before won't matter now, because I will be joining my family soon. I leaned forward, closing my eyes, and instead of feeling my body hit the water, I felt something else. Something warm and comforting. I felt somebody grab me.
I opened my eyes. There was a silhouette of a man standing over me. He was holding me tightly making sure I wouldn't commit. Why would he try to help me?
I rolled over onto my stomach, my eyes never off of his. I don't know why but I always been so fascinated with peoples eyes. I guess it's the color, or the fact that even though both eyes look so similar no eyes are the same. It's kind of like snowflakes, they are all different, you will never find a snowflake looking the same. I asked the man "What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I saved you're life and you are going to yell at me?" He said.
"Let me be alone." I replied.
This was the fifth time I tried to commit, but every time it fails. What am I doing wrong?
Is it the fact that no good people like this man is trying to save me?"Come on, I am taking you home." he said firmly.
"I don't wan't to go home." I said.
"Why not?" He asked.
"Because my home isn't exactly a home."
He looked at me, confused. "Are you homeless?" He asked.
I was furious. He was asking me so many questions. I just wanted to scream but instead I started to cry. I couldn't stop. I won't stop.
He hugged me and carried me to his car. For some reason I just wanted to hold on to him.
He drove me to my house. I was just looking at him the entire car ride. He had short, curly brown hair and eyes the color of diamonds. He parked the car.
"Okay, you can leave now." He said as I walked into the house.I didn't even check if he left or not, Nor do I care. I peeked my head around the corner, he was driving away. I tiptoed to my room, only to be stopped by sister Josephine.
"Where were you so late, Abigail?" Sister Josephine asked, worried.
"I was at the beach." I lied.
"At 5 in the morning?" She asked.
"Uh yeah, I was uh. I was um. I was... at the beach, yeah thats it! I was there in the afternoon and fell asleep because of the waves, you know it's relaxing to me! I woke up at the beach." I lied. She can't know the truth.
She smiled, confused, she asked me "Who was the boy outside?" Sister Josephine asked."A... Friend from school? His name is uh. Comrade! Yeah that's it." I said, lying straight to her face.
I walked away before she could bombard me with more dumb questions. I opened my door and hopped on my bed, instantly falling asleep.
To whom does it concern if you go to the beach or not? I ask myself that every day. Nobody's business where and how I live my life. For all I care I can put rocks in my pockets and drown myself. I won't tell anyone. Hey that's a great idea. I might try that out. If it fails then I go back to the bridge. Simple. That boy asked me to come to the beach with him. I accepted his invitation, even though this will end badly. I hope it will end baldy. I want another reason to end it all.
The boy came by my house and right away told me his name.
"Daniel."
"what?"
"Daniel. My name is Daniel."
"My name is Abigail."
"Well, Abigail, what if I give you 15 reasons to not commit, then will you not off yourself?" The boy asked me.
I couldn't say anything. All I did was nod.
"So are you gonna invite me inside? I mean I did save your life. The least you could do is offer me breakfast." Daniel said, jokingly.
The party, I was going to the party. I trusted Daniel. I couldn't help but think something bad was going to happen, but something bad always happens.
