"Get back here you little bitch!"
I swiftly dodged her outstretched hand as I kicked my feet out, but that only made her furious. Baring her canines at me as she lets out a snarl in disdain. Roughly clawing at my ankles as she yanked my small body forward. Tears streaming down my face as she dragged me screaming down to the cold, dark basement.
"Stop your wining, an omega follows orders, that's the only thing your good for. I'm helping you, you don't want your alpha's to reject you. Do you?!? DO YOU!!!"
I quickly shook my head, thinking back to the protecting shield and star along my hip bones.

                                                                                            ***"Mama (Y/n), how's this?"
I smiled down to Lilly, glancing over her drawing, a big green house with three stick people in the yard.
"I think your a good little artist pup.", I grinned in approval before slinging her up on my hip, laughing as she yelped out in surprise before giggling in glee.
"Let's go hang this on the fridge, let everyone see what a talented artist you are."
I stopped as she rapidly shook her head.
"No, It's for you mama, It's a goodbye gift."
My jaw went slack for a moment, processing her words before I had to swallow down the tears that threatened to surface.
"Well, Thank you Lilly, and I'm sure that your new parents would love a pretty drawing as well, why don't you go finish getting packed."
I gently sat her on the ground so she could scamper off to get ready for this afternoon. Watching from my spot in the lobby as the kids started bustling about, most of them teenagers getting ready to go to school. Lilly was the last pup in the center, but not for long since a lovely beta and omega couple just adopted her.
I watched as Barbara set about fixing the kids breakfast, she might not act like it, but she was an alpha. She was one of the kindest alpha's I've ever met, being raised by betas. She actually was the founder of this place, a home for stray or wayward beta's and omega's, even a couple alpha's lived here now.
She was the one who took me in at thirteen, seeing that I was living on the streets after I ran away from my abusive parents. She was more of a mother to me than my own, helping me get up on my feet, get a proper education, and here I am. Now twenty-one and living a much happier life, but their still was that void. The need to find my mates coming in at full throttle now that I was older.
"Mama!! Can you help me with my zipper?"
I was thrown out of my thoughts as Dee walked up, holding the back of her sun flower dress to hide her bra.
"Of course honey, now turn around."
"Hey Miss (Y/n), can you walk us to school today?"
I laughed at Daniel as I finished the dress, automatically straightening his red shirt.
"Ok, but only if you go coral the others, we would have to leave in", I looked at my watch, quickly calculating the distance, "ten minutes."
"Sweet, HEY MAMA'S GOING TO TAKE US TO SCHOOL, WE LEAVE IN TEN!!!"
I shook my head with a sigh as I covered my ears from his yelling, promptly going to the kitchen to grab a plate of eggs and bacon with my name on it. Plopping down in the stool as I rested my cheek on a hand, looking exhaustedly at Barb.
"These kids will kill me one day, save me a spot in the gardens."
She let out a hearty laugh, leaning over the counter with a plate of her own, but it also had sliced ham and double bacon.
"Oh don't worry dear, your plots beside mine under the rose bush."
We shared another laugh, pleasantly eating the rest of our food as the carnage around us ensued. The before school rush was always hectic, with constant screams of 'I can't find my bag' and 'where's the poptart's' , or my favorite 'hurry up, your hogging the bathroom'.
Yep, life was fantastic, living with thirty odd young pups, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I placed my plate in the sink, giving Barb a smirk, which was met with an exaggerated eye role, as I cupped my hands to my mouth.
"Avengers Assemble!!"
I stood with my arms crossed as I watched them fight their way down the stairs and the hallway, soon crowding in the living room.
"That's so copyright", Selena chuckled.
"And we're in New York too, AKA 'The home of The Avengers'." Avia called out with quotation marks, having everyone laugh as we all piled out to the street.
"Hey, it works". I shrugged my shoulders as the others migrated closer to me, "It's not like The Avengers will sue."
"They might"
"Rue, you know Tony Stark wouldn't mess with a petty case like this, he's a billionaire."
Tommy's hands moved with him as he talked animatedly to the others.
I zoned out now that they all started talking with one another, they all really thought of each other as family.
Almost to soon though, we got to the first stop, the middle school.
Everyone yelled out a bye to the ten as they split from the pack, ignoring the other kids as they had mixed faces of awe and worry. I mean, It's not everyday a pack of omegas and beta's walk the street without an alpha.
It wasn't that far now to the high school, so to kill some time, we all walked to the long way through the park.
That's was a mistake.
