|It Almost Felt Like a Day Ago|

~~A Few Years ago,~~

"You're no match for me! Maybe if you trained and got stronger you'd beat me." The teenage boy who beat you at a pokemon battle smiled.

You were utterly disappointed in yourself as you began to feel yourself shed tears in front of your opponent.

~~A few years later~~

You were helping your mum cook as you began to notice that your favorite show came on. It was when the Champion Leon and his Charizard would do their signature pose before fighting an opponent. You couldn't help but beam with joy and smile at the thought of becoming a gym challenger yourself.

Living in the Motostoke hotel was nice but you wanted more of an adventure and fun outside. You even longed to have your own pokemon team and face other opponents. You looked behind you and saw your mum crossing her arms as you looked at her.

"What happened?" You asked her as you looked at her confused.

"I see you're addicted to these shows Y/n..." Your mum sighed.

"Fine, I guess I'll let you go. You are old enough to go out.." Your mum walked away.

You got up from the couch and hugged your mom as you headed up stairs and changed into something better and comfortable (this is where you imagine your own clothes). You ran downstairs and saw on the TV that Leon was going to appear at Wedgehurst so you quickly ran.

You ran from Motostoke and the wild area all the way to Wedgehurst feeling exhausted but you didn't give up for you were excited about your first ever journey.

You finally arrived at Wedgehurst as you ran and tripped but you felt yourself not hit the floor on impact. You looked and saw Leon holding you from behind as he stared at you.

"Are you okay? I saw you running from far ahead." Leon smiled as he let go of you.

You smiled and did Leon's signature pose in front of him.

"Leon...! Remember me? I used to hang out with you all...!" You smiled, back then when you were a kid you used to hang out with Leon you would also hang out with Sonia,

Leon took a glimpse of you and smiled.

"Y/n? Gosh, it's been ages since we last saw each other! You're still young as ever. You know Raihan was wondering when you would battle him again." Leon smirked.

~~Flashback, a few years ago~~

You and Raihan were battling against each other, he sent out his Trapinch while you brought out your mum's Stufful. You felt that enthusiastic spirit within you as you battled Raihan.

It wasn't until Raihan had an advantage against you and beat you. You stared in shock as you looked at the ground.

"You're no match for me! Maybe if you trained and got stronger you'd beat me." Raihan smirked.

That look in his face pissed you off a bit somewhat but thinking about it you wanted to beat him.

~~Y/n's pov~~

You clenched your fist as Leon walked over to a boy who had the same color hair as him, you noticed and took a look.

"I've heard about you from Lee! My name is Hop and starting now I want to call you my rival...!" The boy named Hop pointed at you with a smirk.

"Hop, you dork. Y/n here doesn't have a pokemon yet. Which is why let's go home." Leon said bonking him on the head with his hand.

"I'll lead the way since you always get lost Lee...!" Hop said enthusiastically as he ran.

Leon did his signature pose and said goodbye to everyone as he smiled at you and said

"Try to catch up on your feet Y/n..!" Leon laughed as he ran after Hop.

You chased after Leon with a smile as you thought of Raihan and finally seeing him again.

~~Timeskip~~

You arrived at Hop and Leon's house, Leon had promised to give you all pokemon so he threw out the poke balls to reveal three Pokémon.

The first one was named Grooky, a grass type pokemon that looks like a monkey.

The second being Scorbunny, a fire type who looks like a bunny.

And lastly Sobble, a water type that is a lizard.

"Well since you don't have a Pokémon you choose first Y/n, I've already got my Wooloo." Hop said with a smile on his face.

You looked at all the pokemon but felt the one calling your name was the cute little Scorbunny. You picked up the Scorbunny from the ground and hugged it.

"Great choice Y/n, I choose Grooky!" Hop said with a smile on his face.

Hop faced you and grinned.

"I'd love to have a battle with you mate!" Hop yelled.

You didn't want to battle just yet but thinking about it, you sent out your Scorbunny.

It was then when you yelled out "Scorbunny use quick attack!" You felt a sparkling sensation to you that this battle is a battle you can't lose, not after losing to Raihan.

You managed to beat Hop's Wooloo.

"Wow Y/n! You have such experience at battling!" Hop grinned.

Your h/c long hair/short hair blew in the wind as you used ember on Grooky and defeated Hop.

You cheered on as you smiled and held Scorbunny in your arms.

Hop was disappointed in his loss but managed to brush it off.

Leon offered to take you home in which you declined because you wanted to take a small tour with your new partner, Scorbunny.

Heading back to Wedgehurst, you noticed a crowd of people cheering on for someone.

You were curious to know who so you peaked in a little to see the one and only dragon type gym leader Raihan.

Scorbunny looked at you curiously as you tried to reach in for Raihan but couldn't. You sighed and decided you'd go home and so you were about to leave until someone grabbed your hand. You turned to see Sonia who smiled.

"Y/n...! Great to see you! I heard you got your first pokemon, come with me!" Sonia pulled you to the lab and asked you to take out your Rotomophone.

You did so as you hugged Scorbunny.

"You know I heard Raihan looks forward to battling you anytime soon." Sonia laughed.

You somewhat smiled as Sonia gave you back your Rotomophone. Eventually you said your goodbyes and passed by the train station only that Raihan had left. You took the train back to Motostoke and saw your mum. She smiled as she handed you a letter.

"Raihan wanted me to give this to you." Your mum smiled as she gave you a letter that had your name on it.

"Cute pokemon by the way Y/n..! I can tell you and Scorbunny are going to be very good friends!!" Your mum yelled as she went to cook.

You went to your room and went to play with Scorbunny for a bit until you noticed the letter. You opened it and read it out loud;

"A letter of endorsement to Y/n L/n, I give her permission bestowed from Leon join in tomorrow's meet up of the new gym challenge." Signed by Leon.

On the back was writing that Raihan left for you, you took a look and saw there was his trainer card and Leon's card.

You smiled as you thought of your awaiting  journey was going to begin soon.
