"keep up Laila damn" i said while looking back at her
I was rushing to get home to check on my dad to see if he was alright, my mom text me during school saying my dad had another heart attack but this one was serious, as soon as i got the text i picked up Laila and we made our way to the house our school was far from our home and since i didn't have a car walking was our only option. as we finally made it to our house i took my key out my pocket insert it into the door walking right in as soon as it was locked, i drop my book bag at the door and ran upstairs to my parents room i seen my father laid in the bed lifeless as ever but still breathing i looked around to see my mom in the chair in the corner crying her eyes out. i made my way to my dad pushing the home doctor out the way. i took his hand "i'm here daddy" he turned his head slowly to me "hey my princess my twin" he always called me that cause i took his whole face "everything going to be okay daddy you gone get well again" i said trying to hold back the tears Laila came in the room and made her way to dad as well. "my sweet baby girls i love you both with so much in me i want y'all to take care of momma okay" i let a tear fall down "we will but you will help us" he looked away trying to fight off the tears that was coming out of his eyes "i'm not going to make it this sickness that i have won't go away and i won't live long enough to watch y'all grow and become young ladies just promise me y'all both stay on the right track for me and your momma okay?" "okay" me and Laila said we kiss him on both of his cheeks we soon heard the machine go off my mom screamed at the top of her lungs and fell to the floor, my dad was gone just like that....

leaning against the gate that was around my school zoned out from the world thanks to my beats head phones i watch as all kids from Harper High school get out of school with big smiles on their face as i was listening to my music i tune out destiny and indigo conversation since it didn't excite me anymore i was the type of it wasn't about me or money i wasn't concerned about it, indigo punching me in the arm snapping me out of my thoughts i sucked my teeth and pulled one of the head phones back "what?" i said with an attitude. "girl you think just because you got yo hair done you that bitch" she said while putting her hand on her hips. "call it what you want" i said then put the head phone back on my ear but lower the volume.
