"Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!"
"Yes, Usagi?"
A moment later Usagi ran into the room panting. Her parents were both sitting at the table wrapping presents. "I was wondering... is it okay if Mamoru comes to Christmas this year?"
The two parents looked at each other, "I don't have a problem with it." Her dad answered. "But don't you think he'll want to spend Christmas with his family?"
She bit her lip, "Uh, maybe... I'll just ask anyway."
"Tell him we would love to have him, but not to feel pressured to spend Christmas away from his family." Her mother told her.
"I will! Thanks, mom!" she back up the stairs.
"And you're sure I won't be intruding?"
Usagi rolled her eyes, "Mamo-chan, I've told you a thousand times, you won't be intruding! My parents asked me to invite you!"
She could practically hear him blushing on the other side of the phone. "I just want to make sure... I've... never really done something like this before..."
She smiled to herself sadly, "I know Mamo-chan... So, you'll come?"
"Yeah, I'll be there." He replied.
"Great!" she said excitedly. "I'll see you tomorrow!"
She could hear him laughing, "I'll see you tomorrow Usako. I love you."
"I love you too." She smiled to herself as she hung up the phone.
"Was that Mamoru?" Luna asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yep!" she said excitedly, "I need to go tell mom!" she ran down the stairs.
"Woah, Usagi." She ran into the kitchen where her mom was making dinner. "What's the rush?"
"I just got off the phone with Mamoru!" she grinned.
"Is he able to come tomorrow?" her mom asked.
"Yep!" Usagi started dancing.
Her mother laughed, "Well I'm glad. Now, why don't you go help your father and Shingo finish decorating the tree."
"Sure!" she ran into the living room.
"Hey Usagi," her dad greeted. "Did I hear that Mamoru was able to come tomorrow?" she nodded. "That's wonderful. Shingo can you hand me that string of lights."
He grabbed the lights and handed them over, "You and Mamoru better not be all lovey-dovey tomorrow!"
Usagi stuck her tongue out, "You're just jealous!"
Shingo rolled his eyes, "You're such a weirdo... Here's the star dad."
"Wait!" they both looked over at Usagi, "I was uh... I was wondering if we could wait until tomorrow to put the star on... when Mamoru is here..."
Her dad shrugged, "That's fine with me." they finished decorating the tree and went into the kitchen for dinner.
Mamoru sighed as he hung up the phone. He was honored that Usagi had asked him to come to her family's Christmas tomorrow, but it didn't feel right. He felt like he would be really rude. Christmas was a family occasion, and he wasn't a part of their family. It was probably going to be super weird.
He put the phone back on the receiver and walked into the kitchen of his apartment. When Usagi called, he had been in the middle of wrapping her present. The plan had originally been to stop by her house tomorrow night, give her the gift, then go home and order himself some take out. He hadn't indented on being at her house all night.
