Surrounded by nothing but voices, his head felt rather empty. Swimming in quietness as he failed to conjure up any thoughts.
"Yunho!" A voice suddenly called out.
"I'm sorry Mingi! What were you saying?" He chuckled.
Yunho blinked a few times as he regained focus. Putting on a soft smile even though he felt unhappy.
"I was saying how I'm planning for my date to go! I was thinking about taking her to a café later."
"Ah yes....the only straight couple I despise besides my parents." Yunho chuckled inwardly as he maintained his fake smile.
His sanity was reaching its brink as he tried his best not to whine and pout. Wanting to throw a tantrum at a situation he felt like he could have controlled before it ever started.
"You should take her to the winter fair this weekend. They have all of those cute lights and stuff." Yunho said.
The energy he was putting into his fake smile made him grow weary. Tired of having to put on a facade as if he was a good friend that had healthy thoughts about the couple.
"What should I get her for Christmas? Maybe a huge teddy bear? Like the one I gave you last year." Mingi joked around.
All Yunho could do was laugh. Letting out sounds of amusement as he felt his heart writhe in pain.
"So I'm your gift tester now?" Yunho laughed harshly as he lightly punched Mingi's arm.
"Pffft! Yeah!" Mingi chuckled as he returned the punch.
Even though it looked as if they were both playing, Yunho wanted to be harsher. Tempted to genuinely punch Mingi.
"Who am I mad at? Him or I? Or that bitch?"
"Mingi! And Yunho!"
Yunho cringed as he backed away. Feeling his ears ring at the high pitched squeals. Dissapoiment almost slipping across his face.
"Jade! We were just talking shit about you." Yunho laughed without hesitation.
He stopped laughing after seeing a frown appear on Jade's face. Being accompanied by Mingi's face of disappointment.
"I'm just kidding~ Such poor sense of humor." Yunho sighed as he rubbed his temples.
His words went ignored like they normally did. Falling on deaf ears as Yunho acted as the third wheel. Being ignored and only seen as an extra.
The mere thought of him would disappear whenever Jade came around. Often igniting a war in Yunho's heart.
A heart that was already ready to shatter.
"I guess I'll just go. I need to head to the store soon anyway." Yunho chuckled as he looked at Mingi and Jade.
His fake smile grew dark as his cheeks weren't so puffy anymore. The life being sucked from his face as he grew envious of Jade.
"I was supposed to be her." Yunho muttered as he started walking away.
Wicked thoughts soon began to crowd his head as he walked at a steady but quick pace. Trying his best not to draw concern yet yearning for Mingi to call him back.
"It hurts" Yunho whispered as he started to jog out of the exit doors.
He was desperate to leave campus. Scared that he would break down in front of everyone. Vulnerability showing as his heart hung on its last thread.
The joy that once resided in his eyes was soon replaced with a redness. Swelling up as he tried his best not to cry out in pain.
"I'm tired of her." Yunho huffed out as he fished his keys from his pocket.
He was in such a hurry to get to his car, he failed to pay attention to his surroundings. Missing the faces of his concerned friends.
"I want to go home."
Yunho unlocked his car before hopping into the driver's seat. Beating at the steering wheel a few times before jamming the key into the ignition.
His vision began to cloud as tears started running down his cheek. Following after each other in a pattern before all of them coming down at once.
The sound of an engine could only be heard as Yunho stepped on the gas.
"It's not fair." Yunho sobbed as he started driving suddenly.
His heart pounded more than his ears as he shook his head.
In denial of the reality he felt cheated him.
As anger filled his body, Yunho ignored his common sense as he headed towards two people walking.
Holding hands.
Giggling.
"I'm sorry Mingi" Yunho whispered as he drove into the couple.
