thunder pounded in the sky as Fred tried to see through the copious amounts of rain drops that the wipers didn't seem to wipe off. Daphne was curled up in the passenger seat with her head resting in her hand. She watched Fred out of the corner of her eye, and then looked back at the darkness on the other side of her window. There was complete silence, you could only hear the water pelting the windows and the wind tumbling outside. Velma sat in the back of the van, she squinted through her thick rimmed glasses as she tried to read her book with her flashlight. Said flashlight kept flickering, when that happened Velma would smack the flashlight roughly. Shaggy was passed out in the other seat with Scooby Doo curled up at his feet, both snoring, very loudly. One of the two let out a very nasally snore, causing everyone in the vehicle to look back. Fred tried to keep in his yawn, but just by looking at his blood shot eyes and blank expression, you could tell he was exhausted. They had been on the road for 6 hours straight, and Fred had drove the whole way. He yawned and attempted to shake off his head. Daphne looked at Fred and scooted closer to him, "Maybe we should stop somewhere..."
Velma sat up and looked out the windows
"Yes I'm sure this formation of trees will be very hospitable." Daphne looked over her shoulder and gave Velma the side eye.
"She's right Daph, I don't think there'll be anywhere for us to stay nearby." Fred tilted his head to look at Daphne as she kept her eyes on the road.
"Look! Cunningham Lodge... exits in 3 miles."
Fred craned his neck to get a look at the sign, then he took the exit

"Man, I'm famished. Is it just me or has it been like, forever, since we've last stopped to munch." Shaggy stretched his long arms as Scooby stretched his hind legs. "You get me don't you Scoob?" Scooby just rolled over so Shaggy could rub his belly. Fred hopped out of the van and stretched out his muscular limbs. He popped his head in the rolled down window and rested his forearms on the car door. "I'm gonna go see if I can get us a room.., Daphne you're in charge." Fred winked and walked off. Daphnes cheeks turned red "oh Freddy.."

Fred jogged up to the van and opened the door,
"Good news gang! I got us a suite for half the price!" He slid the back door open and grabbed his bag. "There's four of us, Fred." Velma said behind her book. "How'd you do that, Fred?" Daphne also got off the car and grabbed her designer purple travel bag. "My charm never ceases to amaze me." Fred took Daphnes bag and threw it over his shoulder "Thank you Fred!" Daphne batted her eyelashes at Fred as he walked off saying ' No problem!'
Daphne stood up straight with a sigh and scurried after Fred.
Shaggy stumbled out of the van with Scoob right behind him. Velma pushed her large bag off of the van
"What's in there? It looks like it weighs more than you." He slings her bag onto his shoulder Scooby prances by Shaggys side as Velma observes the Inn.
It looked like a simple cabin, but with two stories and a large red sign that read 'Cunningham Lodge'.
"Fred didn't tell us the room number, did he." Velma crossed her arms as Shaggy looked at her
"I don't think he even told us what floor.."
