"Where is it?" Jade grumbled to herself. Eyebrows furrowed as she looked for her missing book.

It was Monday and she hated it. She didn't know why but the train always seemed to be packed on Mondays, even the earliest ride which was 6:15 in the morning.

After almost half an hour of searching for the new book she bought, 'Love in heaven', she finally gave up. "Whatever. I won't have time to read anyways"

She scanned her apartment one more time in hopes of it magically appearing but then gave up and grabbed the cup of coffee she was supposed to drink thirty minutes ago and took a sip. She cringed, tasting the cold coffee on her tongue.

"Hah.. what a great morning" she stated to herself sarcastically, cringing a little when she tasted a bit of the cold bitter coffee as she spoke.

With one last sigh, she left her apartment, not forgetting to lock it so the neighbor's dog won't come over and decide that her only place of comfort is a good spot for it's discharge.

6:14 a.m.

Jade was panting. She was irritated and fatigued from running the three blocks that stood between her apartment complex and the train station.

She cursed continuously as she heard the whirring of the train's wheels against the track, causing her to panic and run faster, pushing past people who were blocking her way which earned her some glares and curses.

She ran up the stairs until she made her way to the platform to pay her way in. Slowing down a little when she saw the doors were still open. Looks like she won't be late for work today.

And then the doors started to close.

"Wait- no, no- no, no! Wait!" She shouted helplessly, running as fast as her fatigued body could. She watched with wide doe eyes as the monorail sped off. Leaving her with an hour late for work, an upcoming packed train ride, a chance of getting fired and probably, lots of piled up work.

A great day indeed...

"Fuck.." She turned to her side and saw a man, probably around her age, run his hands through his hair as he watched the monorail swiftly go out of sight.

He was also panting heavily and had a frazzled look on his face. "Fuck.." he repeated, more breathless than the first time.

Jade just sighed. She slumped down the bench, looked down and closed her eyes, her ash brown hair falling down the sides of her face.

"I'm surprise you have no book today" She looked up as the voice caught her attention. Not really the voice, rather what was said.

She raised an eyebrow at him, questioningly. He was attractive, Jade admits, but a handsome man with brown hair styled perfectly to show off his sharp eyebrows dressed in a simple grey shirt with jeans and timberlands, was the last thing she needed right now.

"I've never seen you without one. You probably never noticed but we actually have the same morning sched, I think, anyways I was hoping we could be friends." He smiled brightly. Jade stayed silent, looking at the man infront of her, a little taken aback.

She didn't know whether she should be flattered or weirded out by how this stranger wanted to be friends after telling her she stalked her so much he noticed this was the first time she came without a book through the three months she moved here.

"Heh. No thanks" she grumbled and closed her eyes while covering her face with her handkerchief. Hoping this will keep him from bothering her.

Jade smiled to herself as a peaceful silence finally came.. for five seconds.

Because after that five seconds she felt continuous taps on her shoulder and a loud voice near her ear. "Hey. Hey. Don't you think that was a little rude? I just asked if we could be friends, no harm in that."

Jade sighed, dumbfounded. She rolled her eyes before taking the handkerchief off. "And I said no. Thank you, goodbye" she told him sternly and got up.

She walked down the stairs and made her way to the mini food court in the station.  'If I was going to be late, I'm going to be late with a full stomach' - she thought.

"Hey. You hungry? Great, I'll treat you. Let's go." Before she could even register what was going on, she was being pulled towards one of the food stalls with a familiar back facing her.

"Seriously leave me alone." She gritted her teeth, trying to wriggle out of his hold. This was the last thing she needed right now.

"Seriously calm down" he mocked, and Jade rolled her eyes. "Just give in. I'm paying for it anyways, just be thankful and eat with me" he stated and stood in the line to order, still not letting go of her wrist.

She sighed. She was too tired to deal with this right now, so as long as she wasn't getting scammed right now and could probably be murdered by this stranger cause- who knows?- she'll just fill her stomach up with free food.
