Forced Marriage

03: Weakness

"Rosè, please open the door, sweetie. I and your dad is worried about you."

Mom has been doing that for almost 1 hour already, minutes later after I came back to my room, she followed me quickly, and there she is, knocking on the door.

"Mom, just l-leave me a-alone," I said, I was stuttering because I am in tears right at the moment.

"Sweetie, we're very sorry. Let's talk about this. let's eat the pasta now, aren't you hungry?"

I believe that I am strong and brave but the food really is my weakness.

And there, I found myself opening the door and goes to the kitchen with mom. Yes! I can finally eat, I'm starving to death!

"Uhm, sweetie, about the marriage thing, can we know your reason why you don't like to be married? Like...your already 22 years old and we have an agreement, right? When you became 24 years old and your still single, we'll send you to America to let you study there for medics"

We own a hospital. Almost all of my uncles and aunt are professional doctors.

I was busy choking my food before I answered I drink the water first on my right side.

"I don't want to be like Andi." I replied.

"It's not like that...we promise you" dad said.

That thing in the past about my sister, Andi suffered miserably for our family. She was also set in an arranged marriage of our parents also to have shares.

On the other side, the Hwang Family promised to take care of my sister. But, they didn't instead they mistreat her and her husband hurt her physically, with that she almost committed suicide, but luckily our parents motivated her to stop. Now, she's there in Australia with my aunties to study medics.

That scared us a lot. She got bruises all over her body. She suffered in that state for almost 2 years, without letting us know. She always says that she's doing good and that nothing's wrong.

She'll get beaten up by her husband if she tells anyone about it.

"Okay, fine...I am agreeing to that marriage thingy...but if ever, my husband will not be responsible, I will quickly file a divorce."

I really don't like to study medics, and I don't know why. Andi said that it's tough but she can handle it.

"Okay, oh! and we have an agreement! We will check on you one week after. Don't worry, if I see any bruises or wounds from you, we will immediately stop the deal."

"Okay..."

"Aren't you going to ask who will be your husband?"

"No, I'm not interested in him anyways...and I never will." I said confidently.
