A list of things that I wish I could go back in time and change for the better
#2: My first day of kindergarten
I want to slap little five-year-old Rowan in the face. I wish I could go back to the exact moment when he woke up that morning with a smile on his lips, excited to start his school career. I wish I could get him out of bed the night before and tell him to run away. I wish I could tell him that school was going to be the worst hell that he would experience. Ever.
I want to tell him to throw his new outfit in the toilet. I want to tell him to jump out of his window and break his leg so that he would be able to skip a few days. I want to tell him to cherish his joy and store it in a jar because it was going to escape and it wasn't going to return for ten years.
But I can't do that. All I can do is sit back and watch my happy memories fall away like burning paper and see Finley O'Donoghue paint my heart with tar.
Con #0: you can't turn back time.
Pro #0: you can turn over a vinyl when one side is over to help yourself cope.
