When I had sent Eden for some water from the lake I hadn't expected to be overwhelmed by a horde of the Unspeakable so fast. I knew that Eden's pitchy giggles and the bright flame we used to cook would eventually lead some of them to us but I had never expected it to be this many. My eyes were sealed by pain as their claws and fangs cleaved flesh from muscle and bone, instantly sealing to leave agitated mounds of raised scar tissue. I only dared to open my eyes after I heard Eden scream my name hopelessly, watching as the Unspeakable turned their horrific visages to charge at Eden. But they wouldn't take so much as a step before Eden flared into violent lights. Dangerously beautiful halos of flame wrapped themselves around his crown of snow-white hair as 6 wings of white and silver splayed out behind him. Waves and ribbons of golden and crimson light whipped around Eden, reducing the Unspeakable into ash and cinder as soon as it met their skin. Any who weren't sundered immediately were plagued by boiling, blistered skin, soon meeting their inevitable death. I stood from the pool of my freshly spilled blood, rushing to Eden as he fell to his knees, all previous signs of his radiance fading back into his normal soft glow. Cradling him in my arms I simply ran my fingers through his hair awaiting his return to consciousness.
