"Mark?" Shopie a skinny siamese asked her friend, Mark, a brown ragged tabby. They had both been abandoned in an alley. The reason being, is that Shopie's mother didn't enjoy Shopie. Neither Shopie nor Mark knew why. But she was just going to kick out Shopie but Mark demanded to go with her. They still had their collars. Though Shopie's mother made sure that the only things on it were their names, Mark and Shopie. Shopie's collar was blue and Mark's was green. Shopie's eyes were blue, while Mark's were full-on brown. "Yes?" Mark responded. "What do we do when it gets dark?" "I.. I don't know," Mark said, sitting beside a bin. "I just wish that we had a place to stay! Just for the night!" Mark pushed the bin slightly with his paw then jumping back abruptly when the bin started rocking as if it would fall. It didn't though, this made Shopie laugh. Mark was glad. Not that he almost got crushed, but because for once, Shopie was smiling again. "Woah, what's that?" Shopie stopped laughing and pointed to a big car that just parked by the alley. "I don't know but look!" Mark approached the truck slowly. "It has some food in it!" Mark said as he jumped on a window sill that was on the side. Shopie jumped up and looked in. "What's that say?" She asked. Most cats couldn't read though Mark was very smart! He loved to think ahead and learn, and he could read lips, understand human, AND read! Aside from Shopie, who loved to jump into things and wasn't the smartest. "It says trailer... Whatever that means." Mark responded. "Well, we have to get in!" Shopie announced pawing at the glass. "Wait here," Mark said jumping back down. "What? Why?" "You're the lookout!" Mark said, ducking under the trailer. Mark looked around the underside of the big vehicle. "Ah-ha!" He said. "Shopie! Get down here!" He said. A few moments later Shopie came under the vehicle as well. "What? Do I have a quest?" She asked. "A quest? Nevermind. Yes! Yes, you have a quest!" Mark said. He pointed toward a pipe. "This pipe heads toward the sink. Do you think you can fit?" He asked. "Uh," Shopie looked at her self through the reflection of the tire. "Yes." "Okay, do you wanna try? I mean, you don't have to! Honestly, I think maybe this is a REALLY bad idea." Mark went from preparing to worrying. "I'll be fine Mat!" "Uh, M-Mark" Mark corrected. "I know! I'm just messing with you!" Shopie batted Mark in the head lightly with her paw. "Ow, alright!" Laughed Mark. Shopie got into a pounce position. She jumped into the pipe and her tail disappeared. "Uh, you okay??" Mark asked into the pipe. "I'm fine!! Sheesh, Mark! Haha. It hasn't been FIVE seconds!" The pipe bellowed. "Sorry sorry," Mark said before there was a knock on the window. Mark sprinted back to the window sill and jumped back on it. "Shopie!" He cheered when he saw his friend sitting on the other side of the window smiling. "Now what?" She asked through the glass. "Uh, we need a plan to get me in there," Mark said. "Oh! What does this button do?" Shopie asked placing her paw by a big blue button. "Uh, it says, 'start'," Mark said. "Pushing it!" Shopie cheered. "Wait, no!" Mark warned, but it was too late. The truck trembled. Mark jumped onto the roof of the car. Shopie ran to the wheel just as the trailer began to move. Shopie violently turned the wheel to turn it truck while Mark was holding onto a satellite with dear life. All the while the truck was gaining speed faster and faster.  Just then a small white and black-figure hit the truck. "What was that?!" Mark yelled at the top of his voice. "I don't know!" Shopie yelled back. This went on until the truck finally landing in a lake. Luckily for Mark, he knew how to swim although Shopie never knew. He had to help Shopie who was flailing her arms around trying in a desperate (though very useless) attempt to swim. When they finally reached the shore a lady in a red coat picked them up. "Finally a good present for my mom!" The lady said, putting them in her purse. "Eek! What's happening Mark?" Shopie scrambled around in the darkness of the purse. "It's okay Shopie! If I heard correctly the last is giving us as a present to her mother. And with the looks of this human, her mother must be very old. So we should be fine." Mark reassured Shopie. And sure enough, she was! The lady's mother's name was, Mrs. Rose. But Mark and Shopie just called her Flower. They were given to her as a Christmas present. And all was great! Mark and Shopie got a great home. They were going to be taken care of forever. They'll never have to deal with the treacheries of the alley again! And lucky for them they were the only cats so they had Flower all to themselves!
