The vampire like creature stood tall and terrifyingly over Zan, it's saggy skin tightening as it raised it's head. It looked her over and took a peek into the closet where Luna stood in shock; and Nick and Jasper who were trying to squeeze out of the closet at the same time. Zan examined the creature whose mouth was curving into a smile. It swung its head to look at Jamie.
"I see you brought friends over," She sneered at her, "This will raise your punishment's harshness significantly."
Jamie and her sister had backed up into the corner. Zan wondered what the mist was making the babysitter look like. She doubted that even the all powerful mist could hide such a ugly being.
"And you..." She turned back to Zan, "Could you be the slave to the gods that all the monsters have been whispering about? I must say, you don't live up to our expectations. At all." The monster tapped her chin.
Did she just say slave? Zan thought, a bitter taste coming to her mouth. She swallowed.
"For one, I thought you would be stronger and not nearly as young. You must be at most the age of eleven." She stated. Zan gritted her teeth, "Oh yes, I also thought you would be more macho and wearing armor instead of the that terrible choice in clothing." The mormo sneered, pointing to Zan's Athena Rocks t-shirt, "I guess it's better for us. It makes you easier to beat!"
"Stop delaying your death." Zan growled. She reached behind her and grabbed for a sword that wasn't there. Uh oh...
"Oh dear, I wouldn't dream of it!" She laughed. How do you distract a monster?
"But I'm not done. You're also-"
Zan lunged at the creature, punching it in the jaw. Jessica the mormo stumbled, tripping over the bat. She flailed before hitting the floor with a odd cracking sound. Zan smiled, the sight was actually very funny if you got over the fangs and stuff. The mormo quickly got to its feet and slashed her claws.
Maybe I should have gotten a weapon before challenging a monster, Zan thought.
"Nick, get them out of here." Luna's voice commanded from behind Zan. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Nick walking Jamie and her sister out of the room. Zan concentrated energy on her fist, hoping for a wind, water, or at the very least a strong punch. She lunged at the mormo, hitting it in the eye. It slashed its claws one last time before stumbling and screaming in agony. Zan fell backward in an attempt to dodge the claws. The mormo got up and stood over Zan. One of it's gruesome hands covering it's eye and the other hand raised, twitching at the thought of blood.
Get up you stupid girl! Ugh, you're such a disappointment. said the voice of Ares.
"Seriously? You're back?" Zan said out loud, scowling. The mormo looked at Zan in confusion with her eye. Luna saw the chance and jumped in, she almost stabbed the Mormo in the heart with a large sword, but it swatted her away faster than anything Zan had ever seen. Luna hit the wall and fell to the floor, unconscious.
"Luna!" Zan cried.
There goes the only person who would ever talk to you. Ares chimed in.
"Come to me, my sisters! We shall eat good tonight!" the vampire screamed in a terrifyingly inhumane screech.
The creature sneered and lunged at Zan. Nick ran up to the Mormo and blasted it backwards with a strong gust of wind. He pulled Zan to her feet. She glanced back at Luna who was trying to stand, wincing with every movement. She breathed a sigh then turned her attention back to the mormo. It cackled.
"Oh dear me, I underestimated you children, but my darlings, you must learn," the babysitter got to her feet and lunged at Zan, "you can't defeated me." She gripped Zan tightly and jumped out the window.
