“Sweden…Sweedy…Sweed?” someone said very sweetly. I didn’t respond. All I did was groan.
“Wake up you barnacle-head!” he laughed and threw a pillow on my face. That shook me up and my eyes opened. “Oh thank God! You’re awake.” He stood up and started opening the windows.
Here goes nothing. “TREY!” I shouted very angrily. “For the gazillionth time, Trey! I told you never to wake me up! It’s 9 AM in the morning and you’re here, in my room, waking a very comfortable person in her sleep!” I said hastily.
At first, he looked startled because I raised my voice. Then he looked scared. “Oh shit. I’m so sorry Sweden. I don’t mean to-“He started.
“HA! Six points!” I laughed. “Fooled ya again, didn’t I?” I giggled.
He looked at me for five seconds then he smiled. He climbed on my bed and started tickling me. “Oh no! Trey! Not that! No not there!” I laughed and laughed until I cannot breathe and then begged Trey for him to stop.
“So,” I coughed. “What brings you here so early? You don’t seem to come here before 10 AM.” I asked.
“Erm…I’m just wondering, can you help me with something Sweedy?”
“Only if you stop calling me Sweedy and started calling me Sweden again. You know that almost everybody in school call me Sweedy but I know you’ll never call me that. I told you that it doesn’t suit you, okay?”
“I know, I know. I’m the only special one that still calls you Sweden. It’s just, I thought you’ll like it.”
“No it’s horrible. It’s just a silly name that Diane invented. Moreover, I absolutely despise it. I want to be called by my original name. Don’t tell anybody, Trey.”
“Of course I wouldn’t tell. You’re my best friend ever since third grade.”
That’s true. We were bestfriends with Dominique but she left last year. She told us that she will visit often. But we really miss her.
“Yes that’s true. Oh God, I miss Dom, Trey.” I said sadly.
“Me too. But Dom told us to keep smiling, didn’t she? Now turn that frown upside down, miss. She said she’ll visit often.”
I sighed. I really wish Dom is with us right now. I looked at Trey and then I remembered something. “So, what can I help you?” I asked.
“I need you to come with me at the mall.” He beamed.
“I thought that you bought school things already! You twit.” I said.
“Yes I bought some! It’s just I forgot…er..pens.”
“What? Who forget pens? What are you supposed to write with? You’re hand?” Facepalm. Facepalm.
He laughed. “Oh come on! I also need to buy clothes! I’m running a little low.”
“I’m feeling a little lazy…” I hesitated.
“Please? Oh please Sweden? Pretty Cedric Dwayne – peppered please?” He smirked teasingly.
“Shut up.” I blushed. Cedric Dwayne is the most kindest, sweetest, most handsome person I ever met. It’s like my mission here on Earth is to marry him.
“I’ll treat you with some strawberry ice cream?” That wakes me up on my senses. I grinned at him.
“You always know what to offer. Fine then!” I said.
“Yes!” He stood up and reached for my bathrobe. “Now take a bath and I’ll meet you downstairs.” He handed me my bathrobe and headed downstairs.
