I dont have time to do a full review, so heres a quick little blurb.
So. I saw Rise of Skywalker.
I was terrified. I had heard so many bad reviews about it, people were saying it was the worst star wars movie ever, the rotten tomatoes score was plummeting, all this controversy and crap. My heart was pounding like hell when we walked into the theater.
But....it didnt suck nearly as much as I expected.
Okay, was it perfect? Heck no. It had a ton of story issues and loose threads. Pointless characters shoved in there, Lando not getting nearly as much screen time as he deserved. It wasnt perfect.
Was it a worthy ending to the Skywalker saga? Ehhh... with what they were able to do with what they had, it was good. Not as good as it could have been, but good. It gets a pass in my book.
Is it the worst star wars movie ever to exist, so much that it disgraces the very name of star wars? In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

The final climax did have me on the edge of my seat for a good while, and I wept about five separate times in the movie. (I will discuss when in my eventual proper review.)
There was one part in particular that really pissed me off, but that dives into spoiler territory.
All in all, do I think it deserves all the backlash its guessing? Probably not. I understand not everyone is going to like it, and I can see why. But I thought it was fine. Not perfect, but great.
At least was better than The Last Jedi.
My recommendation: it is worth seeing at least once. You may hate it, you may love it, you may be in the middle like me and therefore pleasantly surprised. Its really one of those movies who's quality depends on the viewer.
