Chapter 12

Yibo's mother stood up and hugged her son and Hai Kuan also hugged him. "Then hold on tight to your luck, so it doesn't fly away." She whispered in his ear. Yibo told his mother and his brother the whole story, why he wanted to hire Zhan, but then why he treated him so badly, how terrible he felt about it, what his ex had claimed and how they found together on the weekend and what they did. "I'm writing him a letter of resignation today." Said Hai Kuan angrily because of what Yibo's ex did for a lousy game. When Zhan came back with the coffee, Yibo was immediately at his side again, holding him by the hip. "Zhan, can we talk for a second?" Yibo's mother asked and Zhan nodded.

The two left the office and went to an empty office. "Zhan, I am so happy for you and Yibo. I have never seen my son like this before. I hope you two will stay together and be there for each other." She said, hugging Zhan. "I see that my son is very serious about you, please don't break his heart OK? You have the blessing of the family. And I bet Yibo's dad will be very happy when he hears about you two" She said, "Oh, why is that?" Asked Zhan. "Because he said from the beginning you were a good match for him. You know, Yibo's father has long hoped that he would finally find someone who would make him happy, and when he sees Yibo how happy he is now, he will be more than happy." Explained she to Zhan.

"But like I said, please don't break our Yibo's heart. He may have a hard shell, but he has a soft core." She said pleading to Zhan. "I have no intention of hurting him. And I think my daughter would resent that very much. She's been obsessed with Yibo from day one." Explained to her Zhan and showed her the pictures and video, from the weekend. "Wow, I've never seen Yibo so free and easygoing. "You guys must be really special to him. Oh Zhan, I'm so happy. Please send me the pictures and the video, I would love to show it to Yibo's father when he comes back from his business trip. Incredibly, my son is really acting like a father to your little one. I am really amazed." She said, after she had looked at everything.

After they returned to the office to Yibo and Hai Kuan, Yibo immediately clasped Zhan's hip again. "Mom, in two weeks we'll pick up YueYue and we'll spend the weekend together at my house. Maybe you would like to meet her? If ZhanZhan doesn't mind?" He asked his mother. "ZhanZhan? That's cute. Well, the house has come alive again after a long time. So your dad and I would love to come, and maybe your brother would like to come with your two nephews?" She asked. "Sure, I'd love to. If Zhan doesn't mind, of course." Hai Kuan replied. Everyone was looking at Zhan. "Ah? So I don't mind. I'm sure the little one won't either." He said to the three of them.

"Yibo, you should make a nursery for the little one." Said Yibo's mother. "That's what I had planned for mom." He replied. And while Yibo and his mother delved into the subject of what little girls need, Hai Kuan and Zhan just looked at each other with a grin. "Seems like my little brother is already planning his future with you." he said to Zhan with a wink. "I have that impression." Zhan replied. This family always seems to know exactly what they want and then won't let up until they get it. Zhan thought while watching the now three of them engrossed in their conversation. He was still amazed how much had changed in these few days.

After work Yibo invited Zhan on a date. Zhan was happy and agreed. They went to a nice restaurant and afterwards to the cinema. And because they still had a little time left, they went for a little walk. "Will you stay with me again tonight, ZhanZhan?" Asked Yibo. "If that's what you want, yes." Zhan responded with a wink. "Sure I do. I want you with me always. If it were up to me, you could move in with me. But you already know that. ZhanZhan, I really want you with me. Can't you stay with me until we talk to YueYue?" he asked Zhan in a loving tone. Zhan thought about it for a moment. "All right, let's do it like this. I'll stay with you until we hear what my daughter wants." He finally said and immediately found himself in a hug from Yibo.

They finished their walk when the driver came to pick them both up. They drove to Zhan's home and Yibo, together with Zhan, packed his clothes into a suitcase and things that he would need otherwise. Back at the house, Yibo showed Zhan his old nursery. "What do you say we repaint it and redecorate it for YueYue?" He asked Zhan. Before Zhan could answer, Yibo said. "No matter what she decides, you and I are a couple now, and she'll be here a lot. So she'll need a nursery too." Zhan didn't have to think long. He knew that Yibo had already got this into his head and it didn't matter what Zhan said. In the end Yibo would get his way.

Zhan listened fascinated as Yibo told him about all his plans. Furnishing the children's room, renovating the bedroom, setting up a studio for Zhan, getting married. The last one almost left Zhan with his spit. "Marry?" He asked. "Ehh? Oh, yes, I've been thinking about it. I know it's way too early to think about it, but like I said last night, you can't leave me anymore. And I can well imagine marrying you someday. I'm not giving you up anymore anyway!" Said Yibo seriously. The seriousness with which Yibo approached her still very fresh relationship was for Zhan amazing but also beautiful. Because it showed him how much he and his daughter Yibo meant.

The next morning, Yibo surprised Zhan by deciding that they should take a few days off. "I don't know if my boss is going to like that." Zhan said jokingly. "Don't worry, I know your boss so well, I know he'd be more than happy to let you spend a few quality time with me." Yibo replied laughing. "And where will you go?" Zhan wanted to know. "My parents have a house in the mountains. I want to go there with you." Explained Yibo. Zhan nodded and wondered if he should have unpacked his suitcase at all? No sooner had everything been put in a cupboard than he had to pack again. But he was also looking forward to the days alone with Yibo. And he hadn't had a vacation for a long time and when he did, he always went to his home country to visit his daughter. But now with Yibo, he could do something different and was looking forward to it.
