Chapter 2
P.O.V. (Arianna)
“She’s back.”
Upon hearing this I couldn’t help but smirk, the image of Caroline Hamilton entering my mind. I looked down at my manicured acrylic nails while everyone spoke urgently about the girl who left us so many years ago.
“Is she wearing the necklace?”
Rose said quietly, though she knew we could hear her.
“You really think her mom would let her leave anywhere without it?”
I looked at Adriana a smirk permanently resided on my face.
“Of course not, after all she is one of us.”
Everyone looking at each other as that ended the conversation. Lost in our own thoughts I began to chuckle to myself, oh how the times have changed.
P.O.V. (Caroline)
While sitting in the black Mercedes I began to fidget so much so that Donald would ask me multiple times if I was ok. I couldn’t help but be nervous, this was my senior year and due to my fathers’ idiocy I had to start over again. Looking at Donald I tried to reassure him that I was okay but I could tell I wasn’t fooling him. Donald was my families’ driver but he meant more to us than that. He was an older gentleman having been in his late 40’s when he began to work for us; now residing in his early 60’s he was more like a grandfather figure as all my grandparents were either dead or just like my father, busy. We drove for what seemed like forever all the way to the docks, but for the life of me I couldn’t see any school anywhere. Donald parked the car and proceeded to come around to my side to open the door.
“Donald, Where are we? Where is The Academy?”
Before he could answer a stout man came over to talk to Donald rather urgently.
“We have to leave now. I’m on a strict schedule.”
“I see. I will not keep you she will be the only passenger.”
“Donald, I do not understand where am I going?”
“Child, they did not tell you?”
“Tell me what?”
“This academy you are going to is on the mainland. It’s about an hour away from your home. You will be staying at The Academy, Caroline.”
