Day 1
___________________

Val smiled at me and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. "Chibi? Did you see Joseph today? He got a haircut."

"Mm hm."

"And was wearing a pink shirt."

"Mm hm."

"And had sex with a horse."

"Mm hmm."

"Chibi? Chibi? Mary, you're not even listening to me!" I looked up from my phone and turned to face her.

"Sorry just a bit distracted. Did you say something about a horse?" I asked.

"No um... what's going on?"

"Just family problems." She raised her eyebrows suspiciously.

"Really? You know, I'm the one that is good at lying. You really suck."

"You boob. Not MY family problems. You know- like someone elses." I gulped, nervous. My parents told me that I wasn't supposed to tell anyone, not even my best friend.

"Kay kay. I have to run home. My baby bros being annoying." Val grimaced at the thought of him.

"Bye! I'll text you tomorrow." She blew me a joking kiss and walked slow as possible towards the mall exit. As soon as Val left I pulled out my phone to reread the texts my mother sent me, to confirm I had seen right.

Madre: miel Tengo algo que decirte . Así que te acuerdas de mi amigo de la universidad Sheryl ? Probablemente no pero ella y su hijo están teniendo problemas financieros. Van a estar moviendo en un ratito.

(Translation: honey I  have something to tell you. So you remember my friend from college Sheryl? Probably not but her and her son are having financial issues. They'll be moving in for a little while.)

You: ¿Desde cuándo tomamos esa decisión

(Translation: Since when did we make that decision?)

(Translation: You have no say in this Mary. Your father and I decided to be good people and we're bringing more good people into our home. You should learn to be more of a good person. And you know her son. She says his name is Christian?)

Christian Savage. One of the most popular boys in school. The only side we see of him is a sidekick to Brantley. Laughing at his jokes, hanging on his every word, agreeing with every single stupid decision he makes, and gets nothing worth getting in return. I'd heard rumors though that he was a different person. Without Brantley, a better person. Not that I believed them. Christian was a obnoxious jerk.

When I got home, and raven-haired woman engulfed me in a hug. "Oh my, Mary! You've grown so much since your mom last sent me pictures, baby. Your glasses are gone!" She said after gasping.

"I got contacts."

"You seem surprised. Didn't your parents tell you we were coming?"

"Not today."

Sheryl laughed at me, clapping like a retarded seal. "Sorry if I startled you then. Christian come meet Mary!" He padded down the stairs and stood in front of his mother and I.

"You know what, I think we've met before." He said.

"I go to your school so there's a high possibility."

Christian snapped. "I remember. The incident. That's where I know you from." I silently wished for him to shut up about it.

"Uhm what are you talking about?" Finally, when I glared at him, he got the message.

"Nevermind. I'm going to head up to bed now. See you in the morning, mom." I watched as Christian went back upstairs.

"Me too. You know, long, hard, tiring day of school. Night Sheryl."

"Goodnight. I'll just make the couch comfortable." She said.

"There's blankets in the closet right over there." Sheryl rested her hands on my shoulders after I turned to go up to my bedroom.

"Thank you and your parents so much for helping me and my son out. I don't know where we'd be without you guys."

"You're welcome." She kissed me on the cheek. "Have a good sleep and don't let Christian bother you."

"How-" Sheryl interrupted my words.

"You'll find out. Sorry in advance Mary, dear." With a soft push she sent me in the the direction of the stairs.

When I walked into my room Christian was sitting on the bed, observing all the aspects. "Seriously? Five Seconds of Summer?"

"I don't come into your room and insult your favourite band." I complained.

"That's probably because I don't currently have a house, nevermind a room. And bands are stupid, rappers are all the rage Mary."

"Whatever. Why are you in here Christian?"

"I sleep in here now too." He said with a smirk. "Before you ask, your parents said deal with it."

"Have fun getting out an air mattress then." I sighed and plopped down onto the bed next to him.

"I see how it is. Night, Chibi."

"Only my friends can call me Chibi. How do you know it anyways?"

Christian smiled. "I've heard people call you it, I just don't know what the word means."

"Chibi is Japanese for small or at least that's what my friends told me. The pump is in the box wth the mattress just so you know. If you will get out of my way, I'm gonna go brush my teeth."

(Chibi this is for you ♥ Happy belated birthday! To the rest of you cubs, here it is. The first chapter of the sequel to Living With My Best Friend.
