On the other side of this door was everything Tae hated. Loud music, to many people, alcohol, socializing. As a general rule, he didn't attend parties. But Jimin was so excited to be throwing his first christmas party. He'd begged Tae to come, and as his best friend, he'd relented. He could never refuse Jimin's puppy dog eyes. He didn't think Yoongi could either, seeing as how he'd agreed to this despite hating parties more than Tae did.
Enough stalling. Was he ready? No. Was he going in anyway? Yes. Jimin definitely owed him one. Deep breath. He'd barely knocked before door swung open.
Jimin stood grinning, drink in hand.

"You're here! I didn't think you were coming."
Next to Jimin's elegant suit and freshly dyed orange hair, Tae felt underdressed and shabby. He'd thrown on his cleanest jeans and a black t-shirt. His hair was recently back to it's natural black, but he hadn't gotten around to getting a trim. It was longer than he normally liked, falling in his eyes and curling over his ears.

"Come in, come in!"
Jimin waved him in, sloshing his champagne with his enthusiasum. Tae didn't think it was the first glass he'd had tonight. Jimin was a bit of a lightweight. He couldn't have more than a drink or two before getting giggly and sappy.

He followed Jimin through the living room, dodging carelessly placed drinks and bland conversations. He leaned against the island separating the living room from the kitchen and let Jimin press a drink into  his hand. He sipped it absentmindedly as he surveyed the room, wrinkling his nose at the taste.
He didn't see a single person here that he knew. That wasn't exactly surprising. The amount of friends he had, he could count on one hand.

"Where's Yoongi?"
The one person he at least sort of knew was no where to be found. Jimin's face softened, and a blush painted itself across his mochi cheeks.

"Yoongi's in the dining room."

"Is that where everyone else is?"
There weren't many people. Maybe half a dozen or so scattered around the living room.

"Yeah. They're playing Would You Rather. Yoongi's in charge of pouring the shots."

"Why- What? It's Would You Rather. What are the shots for? Nevermind. I don't even want to know."
Jimin grasped his sleeve and led him toward the dining room. Tae abandoned his drink on the coffee table as they passed. He didn't want to offend Jimin, but he didn't really drink. Jimin stopped them in the doorway.

"Wh-"
He was cut off as Jimin pressed a quick sloppy kiss to his cheek.

"Mistletoe." He explained,  gesturing above their heads.

"Really?"
This night just kept getting better and better. Now he was going to have to dodge people under the mistletoe?   He never should have left his nice warm bed this morning.

"It's tradition." Jimin pouted.
Tae wondered how they had hung it anyway, since there was no way he or Yoongi could even reach the top of the doorway.
He caught Yoongi watching them from across the room, a slight frown decorating his pretty face.
He felt Tae's eyes on him and jumped, hurrying back to pour drinks, like he couldn't care less what they were doing.
Tae had been friends with Jimin long enough to know when he liked someone, and Yoongi was basically an open book, yet they seemed oblivious to the fact that the other felt the same way. He had been dealing with Jimin's gushing about Yoongi for three months now, and he about ready to lock them in a room together until they admitted it.

Jimin made his way across the room, sliding into the empty chair beside Yoongi. Yoongi topped off his drink without a word, watching him carefully from beneath his minty hair.
Tae wanted to scream. How could they not see it? The way Yoongi stiffened when their arms brushed, the tips of his ears going red. The way Jimin leaned in just a bit to close to whisper in his ear, knocking their knees together under the table.

Tae had had enough, and turned to leave, running smack into someone's chest.

"I'm sorry!"

"No, no. It was my fault. I should have been watching where I was going. I'm sorry." Tae apologized.
His gaze trailed up and up. Ripped jeans and a puffy winter coat hid most of his lean body. Stopping on his face, Tae gasped. He was gorgeous. Plump lips, long lashes swooping over cheek bones to hide dark eyes. The hair strewn over his forehead and tucked messily behind his ears was black tinged with pink, like the last bit of sunset soaked clouds drifting across the night sky.

"I'm Jungkook."

"Tae."
He shook the offered hand, hoping it wasn't to obvious that his were sweating.
Jimin let out a wordless shriek, clapping his chubby little hands.

"They're under the mistletoe!"
Tae groaned inwardly. He was going to kill Jimin later. Jungkook raised an eyebrow.

"Well?"

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"
The chanting started and all eyes were on them.

"I guess we have to."

"Don't sound so excited." Jungkook laughed. "We don't have to. I'm not going to make you do anything you don't want to."

"No, it's okay."

"So you want to kiss me after all, huh?"

"Would you just shut up and kiss me already?"

Jungkook opened his mouth to make another sassy remark, and Tae grabbed him. He pulled him in by the front of his coat and crashed their lips together.
It was messy at first, hesitant, until Jungkook's hands slid to Tae's slim waist to pull him closer, and he tangled a hand in Jungkook's hair, tugging softly.
It was all soft lips and warm hands on smooth skin, leaving them giddy.

"Get a room!"
Someone yelled, and the room broke into laughter as they pulled apart, embarrassed.
Jungkook was breathing heavily, hair mussed and cheeks red. Tae didn't imagine he looked much better.

"So- What happens now?"

Jungkook grinned.

"Now? You give me your number."
The party was turning out better than Tae would have imagined.

They made themselves at home on the couch for the rest of the night, talking about everything and anything.
Tae finally pried himself up as guests were trickling out the door.

"I'm going to say goodbye to Jimin."
He was no where to be found, so he peeked in the dining room.

Yoongi had Jimin pressed up against the wall, hands in his hair, and the way they were going at it, Tae didn't think they'd appreciate being disturbed.

"It's about time." He whispered.
He was going to have so much fun teasing Jimin about it tomorrow.

Jungkook was waiting patiently.

"Jimin's- busy."

"I guess this is goodnight, then."

"I'll text you." Tae promised. "Goodnight."
