Wake Up

I quickly ran to her side as the car sped away. My ears were ringing and the whole world was blurry. I shook Kaya, her blood smearing onto my hands.

"Wake up! Wake! Up!" I screamed.

Tears tickled my cheeks, but I could only focus on the unmoving girl in front of me. Though I was terrified, the raspy breathing, her chest slowly moving up and down, it reassured me. The fact that she was still breathing, that she was not dead. Not yet. I pulled the unconscious girl towards me and hugged her.

"Wake up, love... Now is no time to sleep... WAKE UP!!!"

I knew there were people all around us. I knew I was a mess. I knew I was covered in her blood. And I knew the raspy breathing had stopped. I knew it was too late. I knew the police had been useless once again. I knew she was gone.

That does not mean I was going to accept it. That does not mean I was going to move on. That does not mean I was going to forget her. No. Not in a million years. Not in a million centuries. She was my crutch. Without her I will only continue to fall. I must find a new crutch but right now I need an entire wheelchair. She was my hero. She was my superman, my wonder woman. Who will save me now?

Will I just fall into the firey pits of hell? Will I burn in lava with no one to fly me to safety? No caped miracle to save me from the upcoming cliff. To put me in my wheelchair until they become my crutch.

It's unfair. God made her. God took her back. HE DOESN'T DESERVE HER! And I want her back.
