Chapter 3

“Hello, Jamie. How are you feeling?” he asked as we took a sit.

“Amazing” I said sarcastically. Shit this was going to be long.

“Yeah, I can see that” he said sarcastically looking down to my wrists. “How many stitches did they give you?”

“2 or 3 on each of them” I hate it when people wrote down when I was talking, like he was doing then. He didn´t even care about me.

“Alright. So let’s start” the doctor said as he stood up and walked to the scale “Jamie, can you please take off your shoes and jeans and come over here?” No, why did he need that? “We need to know your weight to know the right dose for your medication… Come on it won’t hurt you” he said a moment later when he saw that I wasn’t moving.

I did as I was told but before I stepped over the scale, I said “Please, do not tell my family about this. I really don’t want them to know”.

“But you have to promise me you’ll take your medication properly” he replayed.

Well I was promising a lot of things that day and I didn’t even knew if I was going to keep them all. Anyway, I was starting to like him a bit. At least he didn’t even ask me the reason why I do this, or looked at me with disguise like the doctor and nurses from the hospital. I took of my shoes and jeans as he told me and then I saw him looking at the bruises and scars in my legs. Not that I was blaming him but it felt weird, couse no one knew about them. I stepped on the scale’s surface and the numbers started running. I closed my eyes couse I knew that if I saw how much was my weight, I wouldn’t be able to keep any of my promises and it would get even worse. And I really wanted to get out of there… even If I had to pretend to feel alright.

“Jamie you need to gain at least 14 pounds as soon as possible so the medicine and pills don’t make you feel ill, you heard me?”  yeah, sure man, think whatever you like but there’s no way in hell I’m doing that. Then I realized that he didn’t care about me at least a bit, I was one more of all his crazy ass patients, and he wanted me dead obviously couse I wouldn’t handle to see myself with 14 pounds more.

After doing all the things he asked me to and lying at him at some points, a nurse came and took me to my room. She opened and closed billions of doors as we passed through all the large hallways of the hospital.  A few people looked at us as we passed through them. It was like a nightmare, the worst nightmare. Most of them were wearing white gowns, somewhere singing, other dancing, other fighting in front of the mirror, but the worst part was that they all looked scared of us when we walked through the hallways. Well… I do not think they were scared of me. I looked at the woman beside me. She was a really big woman with blonde hair wearing a nurse outfit.  Nothing out the ordinary, but there was something more.  It was her eyes, the marvelous look on her face. I decided not to think about her too much and kept on walking.

We had passed through the adult part and now we were at the teen’s part of the hospital. There was a ballroom in the middle of 3 hallways. The nurse entered into the first hallway and opened the third door on the right. Unlike the others ballrooms, this one was empty just like the other rooms in the hallway.

“Where’s everybody?” I asked as we entered into the cold white room. There was a simple bed on the right side of it, a desk next to it under a tiny and barred window, and a hand washer.

“They are at the park, it’s their free time.” She wasn’t nice at all. She left some sheet over the bed and a small bag which I supposed was mine. “Here are your medicines.  Take them and then get some rest” she says giving me the pills and a small glass of water and looks at me.
