My alarm blares in my ears signalling the start of the day, I’m usually not excited for school but today there’s just something that’s making the bounce in my steps and forcing me to do my morning routine faster than a regular day. I tie my hair up before i go take a shower since i don’t really want to wash my hair today.
Half an hour later i’m all set for school today, currently i’m wearing a black sweatshirt with the sentence ‘Shhhh….no one cares’ written across it. I paired it with my favourite pair of ripped denims and white converse. I get out of the room and hop down the stairs. My mom notices the change of behaviour and even though it looks like she’s in hurry she stops.
“What’s got you so happy today?” she asks, confusion across her face.
“It’s my auditions today!” I reply not being able to control the excitement anymore.
“Ohh well in that case, good luck!” she says before running out the doors to not get late.
I eat the muffin that's set out on the table for me, check my hair and head out the house and wait for Andrew's car since he told me yesterday on call he'd pick me up so that I'm set for auditions today.
After 5 minutes I finally see his blue SUV come in the view of my driveway, I grab my bag and head to shotgun seat of the car but I do a double take when I see someone already there and having a deep conversation- more like argument with andrew that none of them even notice when I get in the backseat.
"Hey Eve!" Steph says, after like 4 minutes of me being in the car. I give a side glance to Andrew who's focused on the road now but yet very well listening to the conversation.
If I didn't know better that Andrew is gay I'd honestly ship this too, they are sooooo good together and they don't even know it.
We reach the school around 20 minutes before it starts and I bid goodbye to them to go find noah who has the mix I'm supposed to dance on. As usual I find him with his beats on in the corner of the stairs. Don't get it wrong he's not a loner, he just likes to be alone in the mornings, I.e if he comes early and I'm glad he's early for once because I really need to rehearse and I've heard that judges are really strict and perfectionist this year.
"Hey Evelyn!" Noah greets me, when he sees me coming towards him.
"Why are you in such a good mood today?" I ask, not even being rude but he seems really cheerful for the usual him.
"Nothing much, just woke up happy…."
"I'm not falling for this."
"Ok Mrs. Sherlock Holmes, I might've just messed up someone's mix so that they can't clear the audition…" I roll my eyes but...Wait!
"What did you do?!?!" I yell at him.
"I just messed up Nora's playlist because the teacher had told me to fix some technical issues in her pen drive." He says with an evil grin.
I feel like punching him right now. He can't be serious about this.
"Are you serious right now?! Noah that's not fair!" He gives me a look at that sentence but I wasn't done.
"Okay I agree she isn't the most fair person in the school but then there's no difference between her and us. We can let the bitch do what she wants, but we can't become like her and do that to her."
"Yes madame, I will change it back but before you get late here is your pen drive of the mix you are going to be performing on." He tells me handing me my mix- that I originally came to get.
"You know you could have just told me to 'fuck off' if u wanted me out of here so bad." I tease him for his antics but he just sticks his tongue out at me proving the immature idiot in him.
I walk to the theatre to practice my dance before the bell rings for the start of the day. I get there but there's already another group practising, I see Charles, the music head and he waves me over to him.
I'm careful not to distract the dancers currently on the stage when I go to the other end of the theatre where he's sat with his piano and the music player blasting the song for the current dancers and honestly they are pretty good and in a great sync for a total of 10 people performing at a time.
"Hi Charles" I call out to him over the speakers.
"Hello Evelyn, why in the theatre so early?" He asks since I'm usually almost always late to school.
"Just came to practice my dance before the actual audition today but looks like the stage is not going to be free any time soon." I say looking over to the dancers who're having some trouble to lift the lead dancer.
"Yeah pretty tough luck here but go check the small gym, meixner told me none of the teacher booked it for today." I light up at the news and quickly thank him to go to at least to do one routine of my dance…..and all my wishes are destroyed when the bell rings for the start of the day.
