Karl played with his wedding ring around his neck. He felt a bit distant and moody for nor reason today. The moment he woke up just to find there was no one beside him in bed made him down. He tried so hard to push away that feeling but failed miserably. He just wanted for his husband to be here.

"...why are you still here, baby boy? You're going to be late for school." His father, Rhett found him still in his bedroom already dressed. Karl was staring into nothing, his beautiful eyes were dull and blank with no emotion. It made him worried about his son. Karl was the only child he had, he had protected him from the cruel world and raised him to be a strong, beautiful, kind boy. It crushed him to see his Karl like this. He knew very well why but he didn't want to question about it, Rhett had lost his wife years ago; he understood the pain of not being able to be with the loved ones.

"Daddy, can I not go to school today?" Karl looked at his father with hopeful eyes. He loved studying but not today. He needed time to be alone and stabilise his feeling. He knew his father would understand and he knew very well Rhett wouldn't approve it. Skipping school would only do more damage to him as he had nothing to distract him from his sorrow.

Rhett let out a long sigh and sat next to Karl on the bed. He opened his arms inviting his son for a hug which Karl gladly threw himself into his father's arms. The tears he held poured into Rhett's shirt as he sobbed into the man's chest. Being a good father, Rhett tried his best to comfort his only son, stroking through his long reddish brown hair that fell to his hip. Karl may be a boy but his body shape stated differently.

Karl had a very feminine and curvy body that made every girls envied him. His soft and adorable features just add the spice to it. He grew his hair in hope to hide his curve underneath it but he thought wrong. Likewise, he never hated his body. He was grateful for it as Rhett said he looked exactly like his mother who he never met. His reddish brown wavy hair and yellowish green orbs that looked like forest nearing to fall season, were from his mother. The only thing he could imagine how she looked like. He was very short for a teenage boy, 155cm but no one bothered him about it. They thought it was normal as his body already stated he looked like a girl.

"Sweetie, as much as I wanted you to settle your feelings, you know I can't leave you all on your own and I can't take you to my workplace. You have to go to school, honey..." Rhett cooed as he continuously rubbed his son's back. Karl sniffled as he hug his father tighter and listened to his soft words. "...besides, there won't be any classes today, right? You have that annual talent show, maybe that will distract you even for awhile. You do like dancing and singing." Rhett had a point, Karl really do loved anything related to those two things. He could blind himself from the world if it comes to dancing, especially. It's his passion.

Rhett felt Karl stirred a bit before he got to look into those beautiful forest eyes. He brushed a few strands of hair from Karl's forhead and tucked it behind his ear. "There, can I see those beautiful smile?" Karl pouted but smiled nonetheless. He closed his eyes when Rhett placed a soft kiss on his head.

"Shall we go to school now? I'll drive you." Karl nodded as he grabbed his father's hand and lead them to their only car. Rhett chuckled a bit as he felt his son gripped him tighter. They both got in and drove in a comfortable silent. Karl still didn't let go of his father's hand.

The moment they were in front of the school Karl tried his best to mask his feeling. He took a deep breath closing his eyes only for them to be open when he felt Rhett big hand ruffled his hair. He pouted and smoothed back his hair. "It's going to be alright. Just call me if anything." Karl hugged his father tightly and placed a kiss on his cheek before rushing out of the car. He had a few minutes before school start.

He walked straight to the multipurpose hall where the talent show would be held. Greet every other students that passed by. He was the small innocent bean in the school that all of them couldn't help but to feel a bit protective towards him. They even had that bodyguard squad just for him though he didn't need any of it. No one dared to tackle him and he already had his husband by his side (not that they know of)

"Ah! Karl Lockwood, I thought you wouldn't show up today." The student by the registration table greeted him. Apparently, he was the last student who came. "I wouldn't want to miss my favourite show! Do we have to sit in any arranged seats?" He politely asked and flashed a sweet smile. It wasn't an act, he never one for rudeness. The student beamed for she actually got to see the sweet smile from the most popular and sweet student. She had only ever seen those smiles from afar, not this close and to add the spice, it was her first ever conversation with him!

"N-no, you can sit wherever you wish. Though, the front row and the best spots had been taken. There still one left, in the middle line, next to the main pathway. You should be able to see the show as the middle lane is cleared." Karl thanked the girl and proceed to find the said seat. Sure enough there's one empty beside the school's quaterback-who was Alex's bestfriend. He smiled at the mention of his husband's name though it hurt a bit.

He walked towards the empty seat and cleared his throat, trying to gain the buff guy's attention. "Umm, excuse me. Is this seat taken?" He asked smiling. "Actually, yes it-OH MY GOSH KARL! Please take a sit! I'm sorry I thought you were someone else" Karl giggled at the quaterback sudden burst, his face was priceless.

"Calm down, Coran. It's just me." Karl sat comfortably on the cushioned chair. "You're okay? Rhett texted me saying that you had a break down earlier." Karl nodded his head and pulled out his phone. He wrote a simple good morning text to his husband before he turned back to Coran.

"Let's not talk about it and enjoy the show, shall we?" Coran sighed and pat Karl's head. Out of everyone in the school, he was the only one who knew about Karl's relationship status. Ever since his best friend, Alex had to live in another country, he had been the true bodyguard of Karl. And he knew very well how Karl's feeling.

Karl checked his phone when a notification pops in. Immediately a-pure and filled with love- smile painted on his lips. Alex had just replied his text.
