"Have you read the stuff I sent you?" I asked my attorney, Micheal, over the phone. He's also my cousin on my mom's side.

"I have and I agree with you, he has to go."

"Yes, he does. Just tell me that everything there backs my decision up, I don't want it biting me in the fucking ass in a couple of months if he tries to get money out of me."

"No, based on everything I've read, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Too many people back up the allegations." he said to me as my assistant, John, walked into my office. I put out my hand to tell him to wait.

"Okay then. Thanks for the help and I'll speak to you later." I waited for his goodbye before hanging up the phone and then looked at my assistant. "Okay, go ahead." I said to him.

"Just a couple things Y/n. The Department of City Planning called, need you to call them back to discuss the plans. Miss Dubois also called..." I cut him off.

"Who's she?" I asked as I tried to remember. I speak to so many people I tend to forget, especially the newer people.

"The woman in France? The woman who owns the coffee chain? Your advisors dubbed it the next Starbucks?" he told me and it all came back to me. Miss Dubois has actually done an amazing job with her coffee shop, she went from one small store to nearly fifty in three years.

Yes, I am planning to buy an amount of the business, but when I buy small or on the rise businesses like this one, it is not to push out the founder/owner, it is to offer financial backing and make money in the process. Miss Dubois will very much still be running her business. With myself and my company on board with her, she can branch out, we already have plans for five stores here in America, and another five in the UK, if she accepts my offer that is.

"Yeah, I remember now. She called?" I asked him.

"She did. She has requested that your meeting with her on Thursday, be pushed to next week. Personal reasons."

"Am I available that day?" I asked him.

"Yes, I already checked."

"Then yes we can rearrange. I'll call her back myself."

"Okay then. One last thing, Rita told me to remind you that you're having lunch with her today."

"Yes I remember, thank you." I said to him. "Could you sit down for me please John?" I said to him as he started walking out of my office. He turned around and sat himself down.

"What is it Y/n?" he asked. I came around to the front of my desk and rested myself against it, facing him.

"Well, to get straight to it John, you're fired." I said to him and he just looked up at me.

"W-w-what? You're firing me?"

"Yes. Yes, I am." I said to him. It may sound like I don't care, but I do because now I need to find a new assistant, preferably for that meeting in France next week. Him I don't care about.

"Can I ask why?"

"You can. I mean legally, I don't have to tell you as long I can back it up when it matters but I will tell you this, I received a complaint about you from an employee, I then had that complaint backed up by other employees. Quite frankly, John, I have hated every second of having you around me since that first complaint, I just had to get it all backed up." I told him being completely honest.

So basically, I had a female member of staff come to me and tell me that John had been very inappropriate towards her and she did not feel comfortable working with him. Now clearly, I cannot fire any member of staff from just the one allegation towards them, it would be a legal nightmare, so I had to look into it.
