Okay, look — Nancy didn't mean to fall in love with someone. A girl, on top of that!
She could've fallen in love with Jungkook from the Boy Scouts, or Subin from the Basketball team, but her stupid heart just had to fall for a nerd, namely Lee Yeonwoo.
Yeonwoo was always on her best behaviour, being prim and proper, the model student, and helped the professors whenever they needed assistance. Though, she was quite clumsy and dorky.
Nancy was the opposite.
Nancy was a rebel, breaking school rules whenever she could and would beat up students for her own enjoyment. She didn't give two shits about how others thought of her, or whether they liked her or not.
Whenever Yeonwoo's and Nancy's eyes would meet, Nancy's heart would skip a beat or two — though logically speaking, she would have died if it skipped the third time.
Yeonwoo would always flash a dorky smile at Nancy before scurrying away with a stack of books in her arms.
Nancy sighed dreamily, still amidst her reverie as Daisy snapped her fingers in front of her face.
"Oi, McDonie." No answer was given.
"Nancy?" This time, Daisy tried waving her hand in front of Nancy's face instead. Once again, no answer was given.
Daisy grinned evilly, taking out a megaphone from her bag. "I'm not sorry for this, Nancy-ah."
She positioned the megaphone to Nancy's ear and yelled. "OI, LEE SEUNGRIIIIIIIIIII —" Nancy immediately covered her ears and glared at Daisy. Daisy grinned and shrugged at Nancy unapologetically, making the younger sigh.
"Jeez.. I'm okay. Anything happened?" Nancy rubbed her ears, wincing painfully as she looked at Daisy. Daisy narrowed her eyes at Nancy, earning a confused look from her.
"What?" Daisy rolled her eyes. "What's 'what', is that you've been sighing like that for the past thirty minutes, and JooE's called your phone over eleven times! She's on her way here with Ahin now."
Nancy looked at Daisy with disbelief in her porcelain features. "Thirty minutes? That long? God, there must be something wrong with me.." Nancy sighed and buried her face into her hands.
Daisy slapped the back of Nancy's back, earning a surprised yelp from the younger.
"Don't tell me you're getting soft for someone, Nancy." Daisy grinned and slung her arm around Nancy's shoulders.
"O-Of course not!" Nancy scoffed, crossing her arms. "I would never. Love is disgusting, and after all — I've got to keep this delinquent reputation of mine.." Nancy stated, huffing.
Daisy grinned, ruffling Nancy's hair. "That's our Nancy! Though, if you really do like someone, we'll support you, shorty." Daisy patted Nancy's back and got out of the empty shed, hauling her bag along with her.
Apparently, Nancy, Daisy, JooE and Ahin would always hang out in an empty shed before school started.
The shed was like their mini-home, with beds, bean bags, a plasma TV, and everything they needed. They never felt alone in the shed, while their actual homes were the opposite.
Nancy's family detested her, while Daisy's were nonexistent — basically dead, JooE's were busy and Ahin's were overseas. None of their parents were actually there for them, except Ahin's and JooE's. They were supportive, but not supportive of how they behaved.
Nancy sighed and followed Daisy out of the shed with her bag, only to see both Ahin and JooE yelling at Daisy about her.
"Daisy, where the hell is Nan- NANCY!" JooE sprinted towards Nancy and attacked her with a hug, knocking the oxygen out of Nancy's lungs.
"JooE — can't breathe-" Nancy wheezed, frantically waving her arms around in order to escape from JooE's strong grasp.
"Ah, mianhae!" JooE smiled sheepishly as Nancy glared at her.
"Alright, let's get to school, I don't want to break my perfect attendance." Ahin said, ushering Nancy, JooE and Daisy into her black armoured Audi.
"Ahin, when did you get the Audi?" Nancy asked, amazed. "A few days ago." Ahin shrugged, stepping on the pedal and started driving to school.
The ride to school was silent, as no one bothered to make any small talk or a joke. They were about to be late, after all.
When Ahin had finally found a parking space, they quickly rushed out of the car and to their respective classes.
Nancy scurried to her seat, body slumping once her behind touched the soft material of the chair's cushion. She let out a relaxed sigh, taking out her materials from her bag and resting her head on the table.
She was relaxed, until a certain someone had to tap on her shoulder. Nancy let out a tired groan, muttering a weak 'what' as an answer to the tapping.
"Oh! Sorry to disturb you, but is the seat beside you taken?" A deep and feminine voice asked. Nancy opened her eyes and glanced at the seat beside her without looking at the person.
"...no. You can sit there if you'd like.." Nancy yawned and shut her eyes once again. The owner of the voice muttered soft 'thank you's and sat down on the seat beside Nancy.
Twenty minutes later, the professor didn't arrive. Students were getting impatient and were thinking of skipping the class as there were only ten minutes left.
Meanwhile, Nancy was still asleep, softly snoring at she did so. Until the owner of the voice tapped on her shoulder again, earning a groan from Nancy.
"What do you want from me..?" Nancy groaned tiredly, not sparing the owner of the voice a glance.
"Oh! I just wanted to give you some coffee since you look quite drained out of your energy. It's still warm!" The owner of the voice put the bottle of coffee beside Nancy.
Smelling the aroma of the coffee, Nancy rubbed her eyes tiredly and stopped leaning her head on the table, only to see the one and only school prodigy, Lee Yeonwoo.
Her eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, uh.." Nancy stuttered in embarrassment.
"Uh.. thanks..?" Nancy downed the coffee as Yeonwoo watched her, intrigued.
How embarrassing.. Nancy sighed into her cup, letting the steam from the coffee hit her cold skin.
After she had finished half of the cup, she thanked Yeonwoo and offered to pay for the coffee. Yeonwoo declined, instead asking Nancy to hang out with her after school as 'payment'.
Nancy agreed, making the prodigy punch the air in success, gaining other students' attention. Her face turned red as she retracted her hand from the air, embarrassed.
The bell rang loudly, signalling that the period was over.
"Well, I guess I'll see you later! Okaybyeseeyouattheschoolgates-" Yeonwoo hastily grabbed her bag and stack of books, dashing out of the classroom in an instant.
Nancy looked at the prodigy as she ran and bumped into numerous people with disbelief and shock.
She sighed, hauling her bag along with her to the next class.
As Nancy did so, she was oblivious to the fact that she was smiling widely on the way there.
