You aren't safe anywhere. Online, in real life or even with your friends and relatives. Hackers are everywhere, whether they are hiding among others or in the public eye, no one would suspect them.

Unless?

(Yeonwoo POV)

10 November, 2016

Typical day in the bureau. People and cadets scurrying around with a bunch of files and hastily typing on their computers.

How typical. Yeonwoo thought to herself as she took a sip of her coffee. It was as bitter as how she felt, boring and dull.

The chief of the bureau walked up to her with a bunch of files in his arms. "Officer Lee. You've been assigned to a new case." Yeonwoo looked at him, still sipping on her coffee.

He dumped the files on her table, which were piled along with many other files from other cases. "I'll get some new cadets to clean the other files. You've been assigned to a much harder case, Lee." He grinned.

She looked at him with one of her eyebrows arched. "And what would it be?" Yeonwoo questioned.

He picked up the thinnest file and opened it up. Yeonwoo immediately spat out her coffee upon seeing the words printed in bold.

"Congrats, Officer Lee," He paused dramatically. "You've been chosen to handle NMD's case." Yeonwoo stood up, slamming her cup of coffee down on the table.

She glared at him. "Last time it was Anonymous, and now NMD? You've got to be joking, Leeteuk." Yeonwoo hissed. He shrugged at me, setting the file down.

"Gotta do whatcha' gotta do, Yeonwoo-ah." He smiled. "You'll be given your weapons and gear." Leeteuk waltzed off, adjusting his collar.

Yeonwoo collapsed into her chair. "Great. Just... great." She groaned, opening the first file.

NMD. A notorious cybercriminal since 2015. It has been rumoured that NMD works with a team of other hackers, and that they are awfully skilled in hacking into government systems... Yeonwoo flipped through the files with boredom.

Yeonwoo saw a shadow behind her. The shadow raised its' hand, trying to slap the back of her head. She swiftly grabbed the hand and turned around, only to see Hyebin.

"Ow — Yeonwoo, let go!" She whined. Yeonwoo rolled my eyes, letting go of Hyebin's hand. "You shouldn't have tried to slap me in the first place." Yeonwoo snapped and took another sip of her coffee.

Cold and bitter. How nice. Hyebin placed an air ticket, a gun, three pairs of handcuffs, a handheld transceiver and a taser on Yeonwoo's table.

She looked at Hyebin with her head cocked to the side in confusion. "What's the air ticket for?" Yeonwoo picked up the ticket and scanned it.

"You'll be going to the USA to find NMD. I'll miss you, Yeonwoo." She mocked and flashed Yeonwoo a smile. She frowned upon hearing the name 'NMD' again.

JooE walked up to Yeonwoo's table and pat her on the shoulder. "We'll be there if you need backup. Once you get your hands on that darned
NMC, I'm gonna beat 'em up!" JooE yelled, clenching her fist.

JooE's bank account had been reportedly hacked into by NMD last year. Since then, she's been bearing hate for NMD, even getting mad when hearing about her currently empty bank account.
