"Immortals! Yeah right! You're such a joker!" He kept a straight face. "You are joking, right? Please say you are!" He didn't even blink. I waited for a respond. "It's the truth and no one can know". I turned around to actually get a good look at him. I ignored the fact that he's cut his hair. It looks better then I would of thought.
"Why?" We looked at each other for a full five minutes. "It's not safe enough. There's people who are trying to... Kill us" I could tell that his mind was somewhere. I mean who can say a sentence include the two words, kill and us, and be so carm. "Kill us?" He nodded and I began to laugh. "Wait your serious?" He nodded again. "Why? I mean we are two teenagers who can't even pass most of our exams. What help are we going to be too..." I tried to think of someone important. "Anyone" all I can think of.
"Look" Jordan faced me and stretched his legs a little allowing his muscles to show. I've always wondered how does he have time to go to the gym with everything- not the time. I looked to him. "Yep...". "I love..." Then he stopped. "You love what?" I was really curious. You can guess why. "Well I love...you. You know as a...friend". He wasn't looking at me."Oh". "Ok maybe more then a friend" I smiled.
"That's why I would never lie to you and also why I really need you to trust me". Now he was looking straight into my eyes. "I trust you" I sat down on the ground. He put his hand around me and in that brief second I felt that nothing can hurt me as long as he's by me. "How come your not burning me right now?". He took his hand of me and showed me it. "These are special gloves which contain your powers. You'll get some soon... come with me", he stood up and put his hand out. I didn't take it. "To where?"
"I'll show you". He stared at me."Come on you said you trust me" His face dropped when he found me still sitting on the floor. He glared at me with one of his scariest faces. I immediately jumped up and grabbed his hand. "I trust you" I muttered. Then he was jumping off buildings again but this time I was doing it with him. It felt so normal. It felt like I've done it a thousand times before. It felt like it was meant to be.
We finally stopped at a royal red door. He stepped forward and opened the door. I looked around me quickly and then followed him. It was a room full of pictures of me on one half and Jordan on the other. There were copies of photos of when I was born, my birth certificate, the last birthday card I got from my grand parents. Every part of my life was in this room.
When he said that it was a surprise, I never thought that this is what he meant. When you say a surprise, I think a cake, balloons, maybe a nice dinner but Jordan had a different definition. Death, powers and some creeps who have way too many pictures of me.
I caught Jordan's eyes. "What is this place? Why are there pictures of us from every day of our lives?" He didn't respond he just looked closely at a picture of him with his mum, sister and dad in front of they're Christmas tree. I suddenly remembered this picture. It was the last family picture taken of then before his mum and sister died.
Then I looked on my side and noticed there are no pictures of my family, almost like they didn't exist. And then through the pile of photos I saw a door handle move. I looked over to Jordan. "There's no monsters". He joked without smiling. He looked so comfortable. Like this was his house.
I moved back avoiding the door handle. It kept moving but no one opened the door. It really annoyed me. Then I reached the handle and opened the door. "Quit playing around!" I said to a guy who was in the middle of almost a hundred cameras. Once again, there was two sides. My side and Jordan's side.
When I was scanning the camera's I noticed another chair. With another guy on it. They both spun around in surprise. Jordan came in. "That was a test". He shakes the hands of the men. "A test?". 'Can this day day get any weirder?' I thought. "Yes your going to have a few tests done first". He looked around the camera's to find the one showing the outside of his house.
