"Wake up" Her voice was smooth and velvety, like the ocean breeze. It washed a brief calmness over me, I was safe.

"Welcome sweetheart." Myal's evil voice echoed through my mind.

I could hear my heart monitor start to pick up as the world I knew slowly got dim and fuzzy. There was a dip at the foot of my bed as my father picked up my hand.

I was suddenly ripped away, I could see the holes where my eyes were, and I was falling deeper and farther away from them.

I knew my physical form was beginning to go into a coma, but my psychological state was just waking up.

"No!" I screamed.

"No one can help you now." He laughed

I fell, faster and faster into the darkness, I couldn't see anything. There was a cold pocket of air that I swooped through. I could feel his cold hands flip me over and push hard down on the small of my back.

My body was picking up speed.

Down and down I was pushed until I could see a faint yellow light in the darkness.

We got closer and the hole got larger.

"I'm not going to lie to you sugar, this is going to hurt immensely." I felt his icy cold breath on my ear, I could feel him smiling.

"Stop" I whispered, his repulsing voice sending shivers down my spine.

He liked that reaction.

"Now I can really hurt you, now you'll really feel it. You're worthless, and I'm going to kill you slowly."

The light got brighter, my strained breathing hitched in my dry throat. I closed my eyes only to find that I could see through them.

I panicked.

"Oh, no, no you don't get to cheat. Watch," He commanded

I had seconds before I hit the ground. You know the dreams where you're falling, and just before you hit the ground, you wake up? This was like that, only I didn't wake up, and I hit the ground.

At first, I couldn't feel the impact. Then the sound came, I could hear every single bone in my poor body break.

The pain came slowly, tolerable at first, so I was aware of the hard surface.

The ground was made of shattered glass.

I could feel it in my mouth, stomach and every other surface.

"I'm going to sit here and watch, then slowly, oh so slowly, turn the pain threshold up. This is my first test to you, how much pain can little Alisey handle?"
