First Chapter -Third Person's POV- [Of Kid!Izaya]

Izaya sat on the floor with his elementary classmates... Which were on the other side of the classroom, completely avoiding him. Of course, Izaya was used to this treatment of being cast out. The teachers always worried because of it, but no matter how hard they tried, none of the kids would talk to him. Sometimes they would, but they'd only stick around until the teachers left. Even if a teacher was present, they wouldn't really play with Izaya.

Izaya was willing to have friends, but he was also rather shy. He's tried to make friends, but the other kids were always afraid. It was obvious why. Izaya had unique, blood-red eyes. They had a light color to them and were quite extraordinary. His classmates and others to see those eyes, on the other hand, did not find them in any way nice to look at.

Because of those eyes, others feared him and thought he was some sort of demon. Well, they weren't too far off point. He wasn't a demon himself, but he did have one watching over him. That demon, Akki, was the reason for those eyes.

Akki was Izaya's demon. Though Izaya didn't have control over it, it was his demon. Those eyes gave him the power to see Akki, he had the eyes of a demon. Akki was like his evil twin, but Izaya didn't mind. At least he had something to talk to.

Nobody knew about Akki, only Izaya himself. He was the only one that could see the demon. Akki was with Izaya since birth, but Izaya didn't start seeing it until fourth grade. He's now in fifth grade and the school year was almost finished.

When the school day ended Izaya walked home alone, unless you call Akki company. Izaya's parents weren't in Ikebukuro, they were working overseas. They always were. It wasn't like Izaya was in danger, though. He had Akki to protect him if anything went wrong.

Izaya walked through the doorway of his home, closing the door behind him and locking it. Immediately after, two young girls ran up to him. Those girls were his two twin sisters, Kururi and Mairu Orihara. They both looked very similar, but they both didn't have the same traits.

"Iza we're hungry!!!" Mairu exclaimed, waving her arms.

Kururi nodded in agreement, "..Hungry, Iza."

Izaya nodded and walked to the kitchen to find something for his sisters. He always made dinner for them, or just ordered something hot, so he had something ready. Izaya pulled out a chicken from the refrigerator and turned on the oven. After a few minutes of preparing the chicken, he put it in the oven.

"The chicken will be done soon," Izaya said, leaning on the counter.

Mairu stood on her tippy-toes on the other side of the counter and looked at Izaya, "When's soon?"

Izaya looked at the timer before looking back at his sister, "In about twenty minutes, Mairu."

His two sisters looked disappointed and Izaya frowned. He didn't like those faces.

Akki sat on the counter and hummed. It, or he, looked just like Izaya, but Akki had a scar on his right eye and longer hair. He also had sharp teeth. "Aw, aren't those reactions just the cutest~" Akki commented.

"There's nothing cute about it..." Izaya said back at him.

Both his sisters blinked at the same time and Mairu spoke first, "What? Are you talking to yourself again? Weirdo."

"Weird.." Kururi commented.

Izaya walked over to the fridge and took out some sugar cookies, "I'll let you two have a small snack before the chicken is done, but you have to promise me you won't spoil your appetite because of it."

They both brightened up and said "Promise!" before taking a cookie each.

Izaya put the rest of the cookies back in the fridge and Akki frowned, "You're no fun. Why not just make them suffer until dinner~?"

Izaya shook his head, "That's not nice." He'd gesture a cookie to Akki.

"Ew, I hate sugar and you know it!" Akki exclaimed, shooing the hand away.

"Okay then, I guess I get it," Izaya said as he took a bite. He watched as his sisters played with one another in the living room until the chicken was done, then he served.
