you hated this. you hated lying in your bed and overthinking about things that weren't in your control. it was absolutely impossible to sleep,especially with your thousand thoughts wondering around in your head. you knew exactly what you needed-a hot cup of tea.
you rolled over on your side to get a look at ethan not wanting to wake him while trying to get out of bed to make your way downstairs. he would always wake almost immediately when he would go to grab you and feel the spot next to him empty,it was a habit you both seemed to pick up on from being together for so long.
you slowly and as quietly as possible pulled the covers off of your body,grabbed your favorite hoodie of ethans and slipped it on before tip toeing downstairs into the kitchen. finding your favorite cup and herbal tea that seemed to help you relax,you turned the stove on placing the tea kettle on it,then taking a seat on a kitchen stool checking the time on your phone-
2:27am.
you scrolled on your phone,distracting yourself until the water had come to a boil you liked. you placed a teabag into the cup and poured the now hot water into it moving the teabag around the cup.
you lifted the cup to your lips finally taking sip but not before you heard faint footsteps coming from upstairs. you instantly knew it was ethan. you started to feel bad knowing he had a long day ahead of him and he was up because you weren't with him in bed.
"y/n?"
you heard him softly say as he walks into the kitchen and turns on a light seeing you sitting on the kitchen stool with your legs tucked underneath his hoodie and a hot cup of tea sitting in front of you.
you could see his tired state and took note in his rough voice due to just waking up and instantly felt guilty,you start rambling trying to apolgoize
"i couldnt sleep and you know tea is the only thing that helps me and there was no way i could've gone back to sleep without it and im sorry i woke you,i know you have a really busy and packed day tomorrow and i know i shouldnt have woken you up but-"
"shhh baby its okay"
he says cutting you off and lightly chuckling,walking up to you and lifting you on the counter and holding your waist
"i do feel bad for waking you though,you have so much shit to do tomorrow and now your awake and probably wont be able to go back to sleep because of me"
you said still feeling somewhat guilty.
ethan pulls you closer to his body, and you wrap your arms around his neck. he smiles at you finding your rambling and apologies cute, he knows you care about him ALOT and seeing you in such a caring state made you look even cuter than just seeing you in one of his hoodies.
"ill be able to go back to sleep as long as your with me,so lets go back to bed, yeah?"
he said picking you up and taking you upstairs laying you both on your shared bed.
he wraps an arm around you pulling you close to his shirtless chest. you smiled when you felt this,instantly feeling safe.
placing a soft kiss on his lips and snuggling your head into his neck you hear a whisper come from him before he closes his eyes falling back alseep
"goodnight angel, i love you"
