Chapter 5

Yin's POV

I walk outside to the bus with Mandy and Cam-cam, but he had to leave before we got to the bus to go to his baseball game. "So, do you like her?" Mandy says randomly, still looking at her phone.  "W-what? No, why would I? I-I like boys." I respond, growing red. we walk onto the bus and sit in our usual spot, only this time Mandy couldn't sit by me, only across from me. Yang was sitting there and Mandy shoved me into the seat. "Hey.." she says, looking at her sketch book. "Hey, what cha drawing?" I say slowly looking at her sketchbook, leaning closer. She pulls her sketchbook closer to her chest. "Nothing..." she says quietly. I sit up,"Okay, if you don't want to show me that's alright, I won't pressure you. She mumbles something, I ask her what she said but she just shrugged.

We sit on the bus for awhile before she finally talks to me. "You..." she says, looking out the window. "What?" i ask looking up from my book. "I was drawing you, you're beautiful, how could I not. I think it's obvious that I like you. It's not like I've been hiding it from you, but that boy has been in the way." she says, looking into my eyes as I look back at her's they're so bright. I blush. "But you just met me today." I say looking down at my hands, gripping my skirt. "But did I really..." she say s before standing up and leaving the bus.

When I get off the bus I pull out my phone and text my pen pal.  Her username is 'IDon'tKnowAnymore', mine is 'AnythingCatRelated'

AnythingCatRelated: Hey, just got out of school.

IDon'tKnowAnymore: Same, how was your day?

AnythingCatRelated: There's a new girl at my school, we talked a lot today. Your's?

IDon'tKnowAnymore: Mine was good. The ironic thing is today was my first day of school too. It was awkward...

AnythingCatRelated: oh..?

IDon'tKnowAnymore: Ya. Got to go, bye!

I finished walking home and worked on my homework. My mom called me down for dinner when I finished, "how was school today?" she asked like any normal mom, as we eat. I choked down a piece of chicken. "It was good, I made friends with the new girl." She looks up at me, "Aw, honey, that's great." I nod, my mouth full of green beans.
