The owl

-Jack..? Who's Jack...?-
You asked in a concerned tone.
-Jack... "The hunter in your last game... I think he's trying to... to... hurt... Eli... and..."
- Emily, its alright, We'll figure this out... Don't worry, Eli's a smart guy, he won't go down that easy... "
Let's go examine the scene where You found Eli's owl... Maybe we'll find something. After Emily got herself together, You both went down to dining table, where you first found the owl. Emily bent down to search for possible marks / traces.
*You head over to one of the larger windows*
Not long after you start investigating the window, you notice a huge scratch mark on the wooden frame.
-Emily, look! A mark!
Emily hurries over to analyze the mark. She brushes the mark with her fingers.
-Y/N , Jack did that. It looks like-
-What's that?
You bend down to examine something shiny & sharp on the ground, what looks a lot like a glass shard.
-Y/N, hand me that thing...
You give Emily whatever that is, and watch her in silence as she examines it.
-That's a piece of Jack's claws. Looking at the scratch, it seems as if he was in a hurry, attempting to claw something.
-Such as the owl?
-Indeed. The poor thing was probably attempting to escape him, however Jack did not want that to happen.
As you were about to speak, a loud thud sounded on the door next to you & Emily.
Emily gasped in despair, as she swiftly pulled you in the locker next to her. She managed to hide just in time.
*Door busts open*
-There we go. Wait, where's that stupid bird?! Crap, someone must have found it... Fuck that, i'm going after the guy, who cares about that bird anyway...
Jack disappeared into thin air, as he vanished away, you felt a cold shiver run down your spine. You waited a few seconds, before carefully opening the closet to peak.
-Emily..? Is he gone..?
-I think so. You can come out now.
You slip out of the closet, making sure to close the doors after.
You both sit in silence for a few seconds, after you come to your mind.
-WAIT! What did he mean by: "the guy"...? Is he going to go after Eli now?!
-Goodness... I-i think so... Don't try anything, he'll-
Without hesitation, you sprint out of the dining room, following the fog trail Jack has left behind. Emily tried to catch up, but she tripped & lost track of you.
Your mind: (come on, he couldn't have gotten that far away!)
Just as you make it to the hallway with the rooms, you see Jack appear out of nowhere.
Jack grabbed Eli's clothes & threw him into the wall violently.
-Finally... I found you... You cheeky little bastard...
Eli grunted in pain, as his vision started to blur. The throw was so strong, it gave him a concussion.
-What the hell man... W-what... did i do to you..?!
Jack let out an evil laugh.
-What you did...? You tried to steal sweet little Y/N from me! And now... I'll make sure you'll suffer the consequences...
Jack raised his huge claws, ready to slash Eli's throat open, but luckily you were fast enough to grab & throw a big, porcelain vase at his head.
Jack groaned in pain as he fell to the ground. You hurry over to help Eli up & manage to escape into your room.
Just as you managed to lock your door, you heard Jack patrolling the halls like some psychopath.
-ELI YOU RAT BASTARD! WHERE ARE YOU?! I'LL GET YOU...!
After he was gone, you rushed over to help Eli.
-Oh my god Eli! Are you alright? Are you hurt?
-Yea... Its just... a headache... he replied, but you could clearly see he was hurting a lot.
Look Eli, i'll get help, you stay here.
You rush out your room, speed walking over to Emily's room.
You attempt to open her door, luckily its open.
You find Emily shaking in a corner.
-Emily! What's wrong?!
She turns over to you & gasps in relief.
-Y/N!!! Oh my goodness, i thought you were killed! Please... never do that again..!
You kneel over to Emily & help her up.
-Its alright, i promise i won't. Anyways, i managed to save Eli. He's injured, i need you
to help him.
-Ah, of course..! I'll just catch myself first... *inhales* *exhales* Okay, we can go now. Lead the way, i'll bring my medical-kit.
Timeskip to when you & Emily make it to your room
As you both enter the room, you can see Eli passed out on the couch.
Emily bends over to him as she examines his bruises.
-Its not that bad, i'll just disinfect these ones & bandage them up. Let him rest, he'll be up by tomorrow morning.
-Thanks Emily, you are a huge help.
Emily chuckled.
-Its nothing, look, i'll get going now. See you later Y/N.
When Emily left, you stared out the windows, observing the trees & sunset for about 5 minutes. You sighed, than decided its time to head down to dinner.
Again, timeskip to when you made it to the dining room.
As soon as you stepped in the dining room, you could already hear the chatter of the survivors & the clinging of the cutlery. The strong yet pleasant smell of Demi's wine filled your nostrils. You grab some chicken legs & salad, then head over to the bar for some wine.
-Howdy Y/N! What can i get for ya?
Asked Demi, the energetic, cheerful barmaid.
-Hi Demi, i'll just have some regular wine...
-Awh, what's the matter, dahling? You look troubled!
-Its just... Nothing. I'll tell you sometime.
-Alright dahling, whatever floats your boat. Now, drink up!
Demi pours you some wine & hands it over to you.
-Thanks Demi, have a good night!
-Anytime!
You walk over to your table & sit at your chair. You stare at Eli's empty seat for a moment, before William interrupts you.
-Hey Y/N! Do you know anything about Eli? I haven't seen him since breakfast!
-Oh hello William! He's in my- UHH- his room! He said he was not feeling well, so he's not coming down to eat.
-Oooooh, k then! By the way, mind if i sit here?
-not at all! Sit down if you'd like!
You & William have a good time chatting & eating dinner.
About half an hour later, you decide to leave.
-Hey William, it was great talking to you! However, i'll get going now. See you soon!
-Alright Y/N! See ya!
Before leaving, you grab a few of the leftovers for Eli, then hurry to your room.
T I M E S K I P
Once you get in your room, you can see Eli playing with his owl.
(While you were eating, Emily returned Eli his owl.)
-Oh Y/N! How nice to see you! He gave a warm smile as he saw you.
-Eli! You are awake earlier that i thought! Are you feeling better?
-I certainly am, however, my head still hurts a little. May i ask, what's that in your hand?
-Oh this? I bought you some dinner! Its not the best, but-
Eli got up & pulled you into a hug.
-Thanks Y/N! You are the sweetest!
You flushed tomato red & turned away for a second.
Eli chuckled. "Don't be so shy Y/N, you are beautiful."
Okay, now you are G L O W I N G red. Eli blushed after he realized what he said.
-I-I'll just go sleep now, w-where should i put your food? You asked, still flustered from before.
-Oh umm- You can just put it on that little counter over there!
You yawned softly.
-Look Eli, i'll just go sleep now... You can stay in my room if you wish.
Eli smiled at you. Thank you, i'll sleep on the couch.
-Alright Eli, goodnight, sleep well!
You lay down onto your elegant, gothic bed.
Not long after you lay down, you could feel the breezy nighttime wind gently brush your curtains. The calming sounds of the forest put you to sleep fast.
