Time was so fast. I rang the doorbell five times, but I never heard my mom’s footsteps. I rang the doorbell one more time, but nothing happened. It was 4:40 already and I thought she didn’t open the door because she was mad at me. I waited there for five minutes and rang the door bell five times again. I went to my front window and tried to peek in. No one seems to be inside. It was all dark and lonely, so I knew my mom went to the grocery store to get something. I didn’t want to wait here for my mom, so I just went to the park. I never really went to the park so often. People told me it was very haunted and scary once you step into its property, but I never believed them. To me, it seems like an old and ordinary park.

There it was, Brine Park. There was an old playground that was fading out of color and tables that were about to be fallen apart. The wind blew my hair while I was looking for somewhere to sit. There was nobody here, it was completely abandon. I just sat at the table closest to me. Once I sat on the table, I noticed there was a lot of writings on it. It made me want to read all of it because the table seemed like a diary. Each one had writings and a date Each one I read, made me want to read another.

2/14/74: I met this boy name Ron, he just made my day.

2/17/74: He asked me to be his gfriend, and I said yes!

2/19/74: My days were forever happy and Ron and I will stay together forever.

I kept reading until I saw a huge heart on the middle. Inside the heart it said, Ron + Jean = Forever.

“Beep!” I looked at back and saw my mom in her car waving her hands to me. I wanted to continue reading, but it was getting dark. Lights started flicking while I ran into the car. I see my mom very tired and I just wanted to bright her day.

“Hey mom, I sat on the bench and-”

“Oh honey, when we get home, turn on the computer because I called dad and he said he has time to video chat with us.” overlapping my topic.

I started to smile the whole time on the ride home, which isn’t that far. When I got off the car, I rushed into the house and turned on the computer. I went to the video chat site and waited for my dad to come online.

“Is he on?” asked my mom, taking a chair with her and placing hers next to mine.

“No, not yet. Probably he is turning on his computer.” I shook my leg very hard because it was so exciting. Suddenly, the phone rang.

“I’ll be right back, Sierra. Just look at the computer and wait for your dad to come on.” Leaving the room and answering the phone.

I waited for my dad, but he was never on. It was very quiet and lonely in the room. So quiet that you can hear the clock’s ticking every second. Suddenly, a small beep sound came from the computer. I looked at it and my dad was online. I immediately pressed his name and typed, “HI DAD!” He typed back, “HEY KIDDO!” It made me smile that I was actually talking to my dad. There was ringing sounds from the computer meaning that my dad gave me a video chat request. I accepted his request and there I saw. His face on the front of the computer.

“Hey Sierra, how are you doing? Where’s your mom?” my dad smiled big while he talked to me.

“Oh, mom is on the phone and I’m doing fine. It’s very lonely here without you.” I was about to cry tears, but I knew there was no time for crying.

I heard my mom walking into the room and started staring at the screen.

“John? Is that really you?” she started crying in tears and walked up to the computer.

“Yes, it’s me Elise. I love you very much.” he started crying too and now I was in the middle of crying adults.

“Elise, i’ll be gone for five months more and I will come back to you guys.”

“Oh John, I miss you very much. I don’t know if I can take it anymore. I need you here now with us.” my mom started crying hard and she looked away at the camera so dad wouldn’t see her cry hard.
