"Do you go bowling frequently?" I asked Daniel, while we were looking for some bowling shoes which were the right size. As we were putting them on and he wasn't looking at me, I started to take in his features. He actually has a great clothing style and damn, he has big feet.
"Ever so often, yeah. I usually go with the boys but we haven't had much time on our hands lately." he looks up quickly, showing me an adorable smile, and continuing putting on his shoes
We all wanted to hang out with each other some more after lunch so the group decided to go bowling, so that's what we're doing now. I'm definitely not the best at it, but I enjoy doing it. Sometimes... only when I win that is. We split up into pairs; Jack and Zach, Corbyn and Christina, and me and Daniel. Jonah isn't that into bowling apparently since he went to the bar and ordered a coffee the second we walked in.
"Don't take this the wrong way but, why are you guys here? Don't you live in the other side of the States?" I smiled, tucking some of my brown hair behind my ear while bending over to pick up a bowling ball and looking at Daniel
"We do actually, but we're wrapping up our own tour before we're gonna take a small break before performing at Jingle Ball in two weeks." He laughed at me and glanced at the scoreboard.
"Jingle Ball? That's awesome! When are you going back?" I asked as I tried moving the heavy bowling ball so I could throw it properly
"We're planning on going back in about three days." He said while looking at me struggling with holding up the ball in my small, subtly freckled hands. My simple and minimalistic golden bracelets moving with my petite body.
"Do you need some help with that or are you good El?" Daniel laughed and stood up. He walked over until he stood behind me and wrapped his arms around mine, moving the ball in our hands while I felt his breath in my neck which caused goosebumps to appear all over my body.
"You should get a lighter one next time, this is one of the heaviest ones." He lowly spoke while leaving the ball in my hands and retrieving his arms back to be by his sides and letting his fingers linger over my arms as he did.
"Are you trying to distract me, Seavey?" I turned around to see him sitting back in the same chair he sat in before our little interaction, fixing his red beanie, smiling and all.
"Depends, is it working?" he challenges while leaning forward, so his hands are resting on his knees
A chuckle left my mouth as I turned back around, concentrated on the pins and threw the ball.
"Strike!" I squealed and jumped in the air of out of joy
"Damnit." Daniel laughed while sinking in his chair and crossing his arms over his chest like an annoyed little kid who can't stand his loss
"I guess it didn't work, Seavey. I won." I giggled and pulled Daniel to stand up by his hands, but when he did, he stood close to me, very close.
I sucked in a breath and the smile on my face faded slowly as Daniel looked deeply into my eyes. He put up one finger, turned his head so his mouth was near my ear and said "By one point, El. One."
"What, can you just not stand me being a better bowler than you, Seavey?" I challenged him back, looking him in his eyes as he withdrew his head from my ear
"Oh, I'll show you who the better bowler is, El." He confidently replied while glancing back at me with the same playful, but yet serious and challenging look in his eyes
We said our goodbyes to the boys as they took an Uber to their hotel while Christina and I got in her car. The second I closed the car door and looked at her, I saw her smiling like a psycho.
"So..." she started
"So, what?" I asked hesitantly. Not gonna lie, she was freaking me out a bit. Okay, she was freaking me out a lot actually. I've never seen her like this, did she drink or something? Cause if she did, I definitely don't want her to drive right now.
"Come on, you know what! How was your date with Daniel, El?" she asked, still with the biggest smile on her face
"My what?" I asked with wide eyes, covering my mouth in astonishment of her straightforward answer. I'm pretty sure I just choked, I don't know on what, but I did. It might've been my milkshake I just drank, with Daniel looking at me every two seconds while he was drinking his milkshake very, very, seductively. Fuck, he keeps doing this. I've only just met him today but he keeps doing these little things like looking at me in a way that drives me crazy.
"I saw him flirting with you from miles away! Don't tell me you didn't see it. I have to admit, you two would make a great couple." she said in a singing tone and turned up the radio to a Khalid song as she started driving, knowing we're going to talk about this Daniel situation later.
"What are your plans this week?" I asked while sighing, leaning back in the passenger's seat and softly singing along to the song, knowing what she was thinking.
"I've invited the boys over for a movie night and dinner tomorrow, and we're all going shopping and filming a video for my channel the day after." she smiled and started talking about some errands she needs to run and the winter lookbook video she's planning on filming afterward too as I got a text.
daniel: i promise i'm better at golf
eleanor: like you were "good" at bowling?
daniel: better.
eleanor: guess i'll have to prove you wrong at that too
I replied teasingly and put my phone away directly after, feeling tons of buzzes coming from it and smiling because of it since I know they're all from a certain disagreeing Daniel.
