Silly Putty

Anything can be a metaphor for life. It won't always be a good one, but anything can be one. So, Silly Putty. It's weird, but it works so well. How? Well, Silly Putty, being what is, goes from squishy, stretch-forever putty to a brittle rock with the right pressure. You can just snap it apart into itty-bitty teensy-weensy pieces tiny pieces, separated and seemingly never to be joined again. It's hard, right? It won't stick anymore. But, by the magic of the universe, even though it has been ripped, shredded, torn into a billion tiny pieces, it can still all stick back together. And once it is back in its mystical glob, it can stretch forever again, just like the old times. Stretch too hard, and it might break or it might hold. Either way, it still molds back together in the neat little egg.
Life is that way too. It stretches and squeezes, and sometimes it pulls so hard that you snap.
But that's alright. You can still go back. And the next time, maybe you'll be able to stretch just a little bit farther before you break. Or maybe you'll be able to collect yourself and press back together that much faster. Either way, you've grown. You've developed into something new, a new shape. Maybe you don't fit back in the same egg, but that means you've probably found one that fits better.
