After Carmen Gave

After Carmen gave me the "You're too young to date" speech she and I have been avoiding each other. I think the way she reacts to it was so unreasonable. It has been just repeating itself, she just talks to me then she doesn't. It happens over and over again.
Today was Monday again. Carmen didn't come to school today. I was at school and some very strange things happened at school today. Starting off with an announcement saying that there was a shooting at the presidents house. That announcement was followed with another announcement that stated that the whole country's schools were dismissed. When I got home I turned on the TV. It showed the shooting, there was a gun, levitating, and nothing around it, and It was shooting all over the place. Then I realized that Carmen wasn't home.

What the heck, Carmen never even came to school and she seemed perfectly fine when I left for school today. I thought to myself.

It's 7:35 and Carmen still hasn't returned home from where ever she is. I've started to wonder where she's gone and I've also been worrying about her. But I've also been thinking that she is the suspect of the shooting because she has those "powers", I guess that's what I'll call them since that's what they basically are.

The next I wake up to go to school, I look over at the bed next to mine. The bed is perfectly made, it wasn't when I went to sleep, or before Carmen disappeared. And my parents would never make it for her. She must have been home, she must have.

I walk down stairs and see my mom on the phone with one of her friends. She sees that I look worried, she hangs up with her friend and asks me why?

"Well Carmen hasn't been home for day or so and why aren't you doing anything about it? I'm sorrowing about her and I don't know why she's gone. And where did she go? Why did she leave? Was she forced to leave? Oh my gosh! Was she kidnapped?"

"Honey, I know your worried so am I bu..." I stop her as I interrupt her.

"Mom it doesn't look like your doing anything!" I yell at her.

"I've done the best I personally can do. You think I don't care? She's my own daughter! I love her as much as I love you and you know how much I love you two, do you think I wouldn't do anything about?" She raised her voice at me.

"Sorry mom but I'm really worried about her." I say sadly.

"Why are you so worried, you would normally wouldn't care so much."

"I can't tell you."

"Why not?"

"Because she told me not to."

What is it honey? You can tell me." she says soothing voice.

"Okay well, she told me she has "powers" and she won't tell me what kind of powers so, yeah."

"Honey, you know you can't be so gullible."

"Mom I'm not gullible, she showed me. there is proof and some of the proof is also me."

"What do you mean?"

"I have the same powers, I learned this yesterday."

"Show me."

"Uh... okay."

I thought hard in my head, I had to think of invisibility so I would become
Invisible.

"Where did you go?"

"See mom? I can go invisible and so can Carmen."

"..." After that I heard nothing else, my moms eyes rolled back and she fell over and fainted.

"Mom?"
