a warmed-up dish of food.

In an attempt to be more eloquent, and debonair

I studied a language I did not understand

Began to see food as words I did not know how to say

But on a Saturday afternoon, while I thumb through pages of literature written in tongues I've yet to grasp

I promptly enjoyed the finest dish of réchauffé my microwave had to offer

But my eyes came across a phrase I had not fully considered:

"Qui n'avance pas, recule"

"Who does not move forward, recedes".

And so I thought, in a quiet pondering

What it truly meant, as I continue to learn, am left wondering.
