POSSESSIFYING WORDS

Hello all,
Today we shall talk about how to add possession to a noun.

Example: a book that belongs to a cat.

You can do this simply by adding an apostrophe (') and the letter 's' after the subject.

Please note: the apostrophe is ESSENTIAL. Without it, and just the s, you're just making the word plural (cat's vs. cats).

Let's (not possession! It's a contraction for 'let us'. Apostrophes have many uses) take a look at the earlier example: "a book that belongs to a cat". This can be simplified to "a cat's book".

Note: if the item belongs to "you", you'll use "your". If the noun belongs to "them", use "theirs". If it belongs to "me", use "my/mine".

I know this one seems pretty obvious and elementary and I'm sure when there's a mistake it's more often than not a typo, but this can really change a sentence and make it confusing, so just make sure you check.
